Hello! The polar jet stream contains strong winds that moves weather around different parts of the globe. It affects the weather and temperature, because they push air masses around, and separates warm and cold air. Cold fronts formed from cold air represents represents low pressure systems, which consists of rain or other precipitation, while warm fronts represent high pressure systems and sunny weather. They play an effect on air transportation, because planes travel faster along the jet stream, but they also have to do with global warming.

Define "prokaryotic cell", and describe some properties of organisms that have prokaryotic cells.
deff fn [24]

Prokaryotes are single-celled organisms that are the earliest and most primitive forms of life on earth. As organized in the Three Domain System, prokaryotes include bacteria and archaeans. Some prokaryotes, such as cyanobacteria, are photosynthetic organisms and are capable of photosynthesis.

Many prokaryotes are extremophiles and are able to live and thrive in various types of extreme environments including hydrothermal vents, hot springs, swamps, wetlands, and the guts of humans and animals (Helicobacter pylori). Prokaryotic bacteria can be found almost anywhere and are part of the human microbiota. They live on your skin, in your body, and on everyday objects in your environment.
properties. ..
All prokaryotic cells have a nucleoid region, DNA and RNA as their genetic material, ribosomes that make proteins, and cytoplasm that contains a cytoskeleton, which organizes and supports the parts of the cell. Prokaryotic cells are simpler than eukaryotic cells, and an organism that is a prokaryote is unicellular; it is made up of only one prokaryotic cell.
Prokaryotic cells are usually between 0.1 to 5 micrometers in length (.00001 to .0005 cm). Eukaryotic cells are generally much larger, between 10 and 100 micrometers. Prokaryotic cells have a higher surface-area-to-volume ratio because they are smaller, which makes them able to obtain a larger amount of nutrients via their plasma membrane.

The atmosphere is 80% nitrogen: why do you think plants and animals can't use nitrogen as it is found in the atmosphere?
Setler [38]

Answer: Atmospheric Nitrogen is unreactive

Explanation:

The atmosphere is made up of about 80% Nitrogen, 16% oxygen, about 4% carbon dioxide, rare gases etc.

However, the 80% Nitrogen is highly unreactive, and needs to be trapped by competent micro organisms known as nitrogen-fixing bacteria in the root nodules of legumes.

Then, it is converted to several forms like nitrites, nitrates (easily absorbed by plants), ammonia and finally escape to the atmosphere again.

This brief illustration explains the NITROGEN CYCLE, and it is the only means by which plants and animals can use the highly unreactive nitrogen
