The ball returns to the woman with a speed slightly less than v

Explanation:

We can solve this problem by using the law of conservation of energy. In fact, in absence of friction, the total mechanical energy of the ball would be conserved:

E=U+K= const.

where

U is the gravitational potential energy

K is the kinetic energy of the ball

In this problem, the ball is thrown up along the ramp. At the beginning (bottom) of the ramp, the ball has only kinetic energy, given by

K=\frac{1}{2}mv^2

where m is the mass of the ball and v its initial speed. As the ball goes up, its kinetic energy decreases (since v decreases) and its potential energy U increases (as the height, h, increases). When the ball stops, all the kinetic energy has been converted into potential energy. However, when the ball travels back down along the slope, the potential energy is converted back into kinetic energy (as the ball gains speed again): when it reaches again the bottom of the ramp, all the potential energy has been re-converted back into kinetic energy, which would be again

K=\frac{1}{2}mv^2

Because the mechanical energy must be conserved: so, the final speed of the ball in absence of friction would be the same.

However, in this situation we have friction acting along the slope. This means that the force of friction does some work on the ball during its motion, and therefore part of the total mechanical energy, E, is "lost" (converted into thermal energy due to friction) during the motion. This means that when the ball reaches the bottom again, its final kinetic energy will be less than its initial kinetic energy:

K'

And this also implies that its final speed will be less than its initial speed:

v'

so the correct answer is

a speed slightly less than v

dsp73

Answer:

The correct answer is

d. An iron cage

Max Weber is well known for developing the theoretical concept of the iron cage

Explanation:

The theory of the iron was first presented by the sociologist Max Weber in the work  The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism.

Here Weber clarified that with the diminishing effect of Protestantism within our social life the capitalist system remained as well as the bureaucratic principles and social structures that came about along with came along with it, such the worldviews and values becomes major controlling factors in socil life which is tantamount to living in a strong house maade of steel

Digestive system: consists of the gastrointestinal tract plus the accessory organs of digestion. Digestion involves the breakdown of food into smaller and smaller components, until they can be absorbed and assimilated into the body.

Endocrine system: a chemical messenger system comprising feedback loops of the hormones released by internal glands of an organism directly into the circulatory system, regulating distant target organs.

Eukaryotes: organisms whose cells have a nucleus enclosed within a nuclear envelope.

Excretory system: an organism's body that performs the function of excretion, the bodily process of discharging wastes.

Golgi Apparatus/complex: an organelle found in most eukaryotic cells. Part of the endomembrane system in the cytoplasm, it packages proteins into membrane-bound vesicles inside the cell before the vesicles are sent to their destination.

Lysosome: a membrane-bound cell organelle that contains digestive enzymes. They break down excess or worn-out cell parts. They may be used to destroy invading viruses and bacteria.

Mitochondria: a membrane-bound cell organelles that generate most of the chemical energy needed to power the cell's biochemical reactions.

Muscular system: an organ system consisting of skeletal, smooth and cardiac muscles. It permits movement of the body, maintains posture and circulates blood throughout the body

Nervous system: the network of nerve cells and fibers which transmits nerve impulses between parts of the body.

Nucleus: a membrane-bound organelle that contains DNA of eukaryotic organisms. As such, it serves to maintain the integrity of the cell by facilitating transcription and replication processes.

Organ: a group of tissues in a living organism that have been adapted to perform a specific function.

Organism: an individual animal, plant, or single-celled life form.

Organ system: a group of organs that work together as a biological system to perform one or more functions

Prokaryotes: a microscopic single-celled organism that has neither a distinct nucleus with a membrane nor other specialized organelles.

Ribosome: a minute particle consisting of RNA and associated proteins found in large numbers in the cytoplasm of living cells. They bind messenger RNA and transfer RNA to synthesize polypeptides and proteins.

Respiratory system: a biological system consisting of specific organs and structures used for gas exchange in animals and plants.

Rough endoplasmic reticulum: an organelle found in eukaryotic cells. Its main function is to produce proteins. It is made up of cisternae, tubules and vesicles.

Skeletal system: The human skeleton is the internal framework of the human body.

Smooth ER: is a membranous organelle found in most eukaryotic cells

Tissue: a group of cells, in close proximity, organized to perform one or more specific functions.

Vacuole: a membrane-bound organelle.

Which of the following statements is true for ideal gases, but is not always true for real gases?
xxMikexx [17]

Answer:

C. Replacing one gas by another under the same conditions, has no effect on pressure.

Explanation:

Ideal gas:

 A gas is treated as an ideal gas if temperature is high and pressure is low.

Kinetic energy for ideal gas given as

K.E.=\dfrac{3}{2}KT

So when temperature of gas is increases then  Average molecular kinetic energy will also increases.

The size of molecule is negligible as compare to the dimension of container. It mean that volume occupied by molecule is less as compare to the volume of container.

The between molecules is perfectly elastic.

Ideal gas equation

P V = m R T

So the option C is not always true.
