The answer is 32. it's 32 because 2 to the power of 6 means 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2. The exponent means the amount of times the base would be multiplied by itself. and then 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 equals to 64 but 64 divided by 2 equals 32. :)

Simplify the given expression. (18+ - 8)2
JulsSmile [24]

Answer:

20

Step-by-step explanation:

Our expression:

2 * (18 + - 8)

Plus then minus (+ -) is the same as just minus ( - )

Some examples:

1 + (+ 1) = 2

1 + (- 1) = 0

1 - (+ 1) = 0

1 - (- 1) = 2

Thus, 18 + - 8 is the same as 18 - 8

2 * (18 + - 8) =

= 2 * (18 - 8) =

= 2* (10) =

= 2 * 10 =

= 20

Line segment CD begins at (−1,1) and ends at (4,1). The segment is translated 2 units down to form line segment C'D'. Line segme
dusya [7]

Answer:

  D' = (4, -1)

Step-by-step explanation:

Translation down by 2 units subtracts 2 from the y-coordinate. The x-coordinate remains unchanged. You can see this in the descriptions of C and C':

  • C = (-1, 1)
  • C' = (-1, -1) . . . . . 2 is subtracted from y=1 to get y=-1

Likewise:

  • D = (4, 1)
  • D' = (4, -1)

__

The translated segment is still a horizontal segment, now at y=-1 instead of at its previous position of y=1.

The number of subscribers to an online magazine is increasing by 34% each year. The function represents the number of subscriber
Anna71 [15]

Answer: A.  The expression  (1.05)^{6t} reveals the approximate rate of increase in the number of subscribers if measured six times a year.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, The number of subscribers to an online magazine is increasing by 34% each year. The function represents the number of subscribers after t years.

f(t) = 13,000(1.34)^t

where (1.34)^t represents rate of increase in the number of subscriber.

If rate is measured six times a year

then the number of subscriber, f(6t)= 13000(1+0.34/6)^{6t}

f(6t) = 13000( 1+0.05)^{6t}= 13000(1.05)^{6t} ( approx)

Thus, when we measure increment in six times a year then the rate  rate of increase in the number of subscribers=(1.05)^{6t}

Therefore Option A is correct.

Note: Option B) is incorrect because rate of increase in the number of subscribers if measured three times a year = 13000(1.11)^{3t} ( approx)

Option C) is incorrect because rate of increase in the number of subscribers if measured four times a year =  13000(1.085)^{4t} ( approx)

Option D) is incorrect because rate of increase in the number of subscribers if measured two times a year =  13000(1.17)^{2t} ( approx)
