Suppose a cylindrical habitat in space 6.80 km in diameter and 24 km long has been proposed. Such a habitat would have cities, l

and, and lakes on the inside surface and air and clouds in the center. This would all be held in place by rotation of the cylinder about its long axis. How fast would the cylinder have to rotate to imitate the Earth's gravitational field at the walls of the cylinder? Answer in rad/s.

a=v^2/r. This is the centripetal acceleration for object moving in circle. In order to imitate the earths gravitational acceleration, plug in 9.8 for a. Then plug in the radius of the cylinder and solve for v.

The speed of sound at sea level is normally about 340 m/s. A stationary fire alarm has a frequency of 15,000 Hz. An observer run
Musya8 [376]

Answer:

The velocity of the observer is 6.8 m/s

Explanation:

Doppler effect equation is given by the formula:

f'=\frac{v+v_o}{v-v_s} f\\\\where\ f'\ is \ the\ observed \ frequency=15300\ Hz,v_o\ is\ the\ velocity\ of\ the\ observer,\\v_s\ is\ the\ velocity\ of \ source=0,v\ is\ the\ velocity\ of\ sound=340\ m/s\ and\ f\ is\ actual\\frequency=15000\ Hz.\\\\substituting:\\\\15300=15000(\frac{340+v_o}{340} )\\\\340+v_o=346.8\\\\v_o=6.8\ m/sThe velocity of the observer is 6.8 m/s

Which of Newton's laws of motion describes the motion of an object that has a net<br> force of ON?
algol [13]

Newton's first and second laws of motion both do, but I think the one you're looking for is: <em>The First Law of Motion</em>.  That description is a little more direct.

It says that if an object is not acted on by a net external force, then it continues in "constant, uniform motion".
