kow [346]
10x+20y=540
x+y=34
y=34-x

Plug in (34-x) for y:
10x+20(34-x)=540
10x+680-20x=540
-10x=-140
10x=140
x=14

There were 14 ten cent coins and 20 20 cent coins

You roll a 6-sided die.<br>What is P(prime)?<br>Write your answer as a percentage.<br>Submit
Cloud [144]

You roll a 6-sided die. The probability of getting prime is 50%.

<u>Solution:</u>

Given, that we have rolled a 6 – sided die.

We have to find the P(prime) as percentage.

Now, It means that we have to find the probability of getting a prime number on the face.

On rolling a six sided die, the total possible outcomes are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Number of possible outcomes = 6

We have to get a prime number on rolling a die

The prime numbers in possible outcomes are 2, 3, 5

So number of favorable outcomes = 3

\text {Probability of an event as percentage }=\frac{\text { favourable number of outcomes }}{\text { total number of outcomes }} \times 100

\text {Probability of getting prime number on face of die }=\frac{3}{6} \times 100

\begin{array}{l}{\text { P(prime) }=\frac{1}{2} \times 100} \\\\ {\text { P(prime) }=50 \%}\end{array}

Hence, probability of getting prime is 50%.

Which sequences are geometric? Check all that apply.
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

–2.7, –9, –30, –100, ...

–1, 2.5, –6.25, 15.625, ...

  8, 0.8, 0.08, 0.008, ...

Explanation:

A geometric sequence is a sequence with the ratio between two consecutive terms constant.  This ratio is called the common ratio.

now check all the sequence one by one.

For sequence –2.7, –9, –30, –100, ...

r = \frac{-9}{-2.7}=  3.333

= \frac{-30}{-9}  = 3.3333

=\frac{-100}{-30} = 3.3333

We see that, all the ratios are same.

So this is geometric sequence.

For sequence   –1, 2.5, –6.25, 15.625, ...

r = \frac{2.5}{-1}  =  \frac{-6.25}{2.5}  = \frac{15.625}{-6.25}  = 2.5

This is also geometric sequence.

For sequence  9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4, ...

In this sequence, common ratio  is not same.

So, it is not a geometric sequence.

For sequence    8, 0.8, 0.08, 0.008, ...

Common ratio is same so, it is geometric sequence.

For sequence   4, –4, –12, –20, ...

Common ratio is not same. So, it is not geometric sequence .
