Answer:

b. International Shoe Co. v. Washington, 326 U.S. 310 (1945)

Explanation:

The term, 'Minimum Contact' specifies when it is appropriate for a court to exercise jurisdiction of a case over a defendant. The case, International Shoe Co. v. Washington, 326 U.S. 310 (1945) was the first notable decision taken by the  Supreme court of the United States, where the court ruled that a defendant was subject to the jurisdiction of the state over which it had 'minimum contacts'.

The case was between the International Shoe Company and the state of Washington. The main business operation base for International Shoe Company was in Missouri but they did business in rented facilities in Washington. The state charged them to court for not paying certain taxes for operating their business in Washington. The lower courts ruled in favor of the state. The supreme court however ruled that 'minimum contacts' must be established before a court can exercise jurisdiction over a  defendant. This involves knowing the level of business dealings and contacts maintained between the defendants and citizens of the state, as well as the benefits derived by the defendant from the state.

ankoles [38]

Answer: The base-rate fallacy

Explanation: The base rate fallacy also refered to as base rate bias is the tendency of an individual to erroneously predict the likely outcome of a situation by over looking all relevant data that was supposed to be taken into account. It is the preference of individuating information over relevant data. Stephon over looked the statistical data that his chance of making it into the NBA is low and prefer to go with the individuating information about how his friend's brother receives a lucrative contract to play for the NBA. This situation best illustrates base-rate fallacy.

Who’s banquo in macbeth
ExtremeBDS [4]
Banquo is Macbeth’s best friend. Banquo enters the play with Macbeth after both have fought valiantly for Duncan’s side in a recent battle. Duncan acknowledges Banquo as “no less deserved” of praise than Macbeth, but from the beginning of the play Banquo is overshadowed by Macbeth’s accomplishments and ambition. However, Banquo is not entirely without ambition of his own. He asks for a prophecy from the Witches, too, and is pleased to learn that his children will rule Scotland. Similar to Macbeth, Banquo seems unable to understand the cost of the Witches’ prophecy will be his life. In Act III, murderers kill Banquo at Macbeth’s command, and try to kill his young son, Fleance, who manages to get away. Soon after his death, Banquo appears in the form of a ghost at the banquet the Macbeths give at their castle. At play’s end, Banquo’s greatest import remains offstage: his son, Fleance, who could come back to revenge his father’s death and take the throne of Scotland, fulfilling the Witches’ prophecy that Banquo’s sons will one day be king.
