The solution comes in the form of a simple equation
3/8+1/4+x=7/8 because if you used 7/8ths you would only have 1/8th left
you need common denominators to solve so you find the closest one which is 8
you have to times 4 by 2 to get 8 and whatever you do to the 4 you have to do to the one above it so 1*2=2 and 4*2=8 so back to the equation 3/8+2/8+x=7/8
add them together and you have 5/8+x=7/8 so... 7/8-5/8=2/8ths
He used 2/8ths to paint the birdhouse

taurus [48]

<u>The approximate area of the </u><u>hexagon</u><u>  = </u><u>672 cm²</u>

What is hexagon ?

  • In geometry, hexagon is a polygon with 6 sides.
  • If the lengths of all the sides and the measurement of all the angles are equal, such hexagon is called a regular hexagon.
  • In other words, sides of a regular hexagon are congruent.

apothem of the hexagon = 14 cm

perimeter of the hexagon = 96 cm

Area of the hexagon = [(3√3) / 2] a²     ; where a is the measure of the side

hexagon has 6 sides.

Perimeter = 6a

96 cm = 6a

96 cm / 6 = a

16 = a

There are 6 triangles in the hexagon .

Area of a triangle = (height * base) / 2

A = (14 cm * 16 cm) / 2

A = 224 / 2

A = 112 cm²

The approximate area of the hexagon = 112 cm²  * 6 triangles = 672 cm²

Which proportion could be used to find the length of side b?
Goshia [24]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the Sine Rule in ΔABC

\frac{a}{sinA} = \frac{b}{sinB} = \frac{c}{sinC}

∠C = 180° - (82 + 58)° = 180° - 140° = 40°

Completing values in the above formula gives

\frac{a}{sin58} = \frac{b}{sin82} = \frac{8.4}{sin40}

We require a pair of ratios which contain b and 3 known quantities, that is

\frac{b}{sin82} = \frac{8.4}{sin40}

OR

\frac{sin40}{8.4} = \frac{sin82}{b} → B
