Area for a circle is A= \pi r^2.  We will fill in each area and then solve for the radius.  530.66m^2= \pi r^2 and \frac{530.66m^2}{3.14}=r^2.  ∴169=r^2 and r = 13.  For b, 907.46ft^2= \pi r^2 and \frac{907.46ft^2}{3.14}=r^2.  289=r^2, ∴ r = 17.  For c, 379.94mi^2= \pi r^2, and \frac{379.94mi^2}{3.14}=r^2.  ∴, 121=r^2 and r = 11.  For d, 1962.5cm^2= \pi r^2, and \frac{1962.5cm^2}{3.14}=r^2.  ∴, 625=r^2 so r = 25.  And there you have it!

You have to deal with this type of question step by step. Firstly, you can figure out all the unknown values (such as sqrt x-3), by substituting x for 19, as you are trying to figure out f(x) when x=19. Therefore:
x+2=21
sqrt(x-3)=sqrt(19-3)=sqrt 16=4
Now the equation is easier to handle:
3/21 - 4
We can write this as 3/21 - 4/1 , which equals -27/7.

Consider a civilization broadcasting a signal with a power of 2.0×104 watts. The Arecibo radio telescope, which is about 300 met
Vitek1552 [10]

For light: Inverse Square Law

<span>
The signal is weaken by the inverse square of the difference of distances this means that one over the square of the difference. </span>

<span>
</span>

Therefore, 70000LY / 141 LY =496.45 and that squared =246462.602 times less signal, or 1/246462.602.

 2 For a circular telescope like the Arecibo radio telescope that equals Pi times the radius squared. Sensitivity of the telescope depends on its area.<span>
The new telescope needs 246462.60 times that area to have enough sensitivity </span>

<span>
<span>(150 x 150 x Pi) = 70 685 sq m area for the Arecibo telescope and that times 246462.60
= 1.74212 x 10^10</span></span>

<span><span>
</span></span>

What is the diameter of a circle with that area?

 <span>
<span>1. Divide the area by Pi = 5.548156 x 10^9
2. Take the square root of the result to find the radius = 74485.94293</span></span>

3. Multiply by 2 to find the diameter = <span>148971.886</span>

Find the value of x. Give reasons to justify your solution. C ∈ AE
saw5 [17]

Answer:

x = 11º

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Notice Parallel Lines

2. Understand Angle Relationships When Parallel Lines Are Present (e.g., alternate interior/exterior)

3. ∠CAB ≅ ∠DCA ∴ m∠CAB = 33º

4. Use exterior angle theorem: the sum of non-adjacent angles of the same triangle which the exterior angle is drawn is equal to the measure of that angle.

5. Therefore write and solve the equation 2x + 33º (sum of non-adjacent interior angles) = 5x (exterior angle).

  • 2x + 33 = 5x (C.L.T or <u>C</u>ombine <u>L</u>ike <u>T</u>erms)
  • 3x = 33 (inverse operations; divide by 3)
  • x = 11º (remember to apply units)
