Mike can be paid in one of two ways based on the amount of merchandise he sells: Plan A: A salary of $1,000.00 per month, plus a

commission of 10% of sales, OR Plan B: A salary of $1,300.00 per month, plus a commission of 15% of sales in excess of $9,000.00. For what amount of monthly sales is plan B better than plan A if we can assume that Mike's sales are always more than $9,000.00? Write your answer an an inequality involving x, where x represents the total monthly sales.

Answer:

X > 21000

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the following :

Payment plans :

PLAN A:

salary = $1000 per month

Commision = 10% of sales

PLAN B:

salary = $1300 per month

Commision = 15% of sales in excess of $9,000

Hence, for plan B; 15% is paid after deducting $9000 from total sales

For what amount of monthly sales is plan B better than plan A if we can assume that Mike's sales are always more than $9,000.00?

That is ;

Plan B > plan A

Let total sales = x

Plan A:

$1,000 + 0.1x

Plan B:

$1,300 + 0.15(x - 9000)

1300 + 0.15(x - 9000) > 1000 + 0.1x

1300 + 0.15x - 1350 > 1000 + 0.1x

0.15x - 50 > 1000 + 0.1x

0.15x - 0.1x > 1000 + 50

0.05x > 1050

x > 1050/0.05

x > 21000

A particular circle in the standard (x,y) coordinate
matrenka [14]
For any circle with Cartesian equation
(x-a)^2 + (y-b)^2 = r^2,
we have that the centre of the circle is (a,b), and the radius of the circle is r.

So in the case that
(x-5)^2 + y^2 = 38,
we essentially have that
a = 5, b = 0, r^2 = 38.

So the centre of the circle is (5,0), and the radius is \sqrt{38}.

What is the volume of the figure below if a = 4.5 units, b = 5.8 units, and c = 3 units?
Anastasy [175]

Answer:

The answer to your question is the letter C

Step-by-step explanation:

Data

a = 4.5 u

b = 5.8 u

c = 3 u

Process

1.- Calculate the volume of the rectangular prisms

Formula

Volume = a x a x c

Substitution

Volume = 4.5 x 4.5 x 3

Result

Volume = 60.75 u³

But there are two rectangular prism

Total volume = 2 x 60.75

                      = 121.5 u³

2.- Calculate the volume of the triangles

Formula

Volume = base x width x height

Substitution

Volume = 5.8 x 3 x 4.5

Result

Volume = 78.3 u³

3.- Total volume

Volume = 121.5 + 78.3

             = 199.8 u³
