I mole of water has an Avogadro number of molecules.

1 mole = 6.02 * 10^ 23  molecules.

6.02 * 10^ 23  molecules  =  1 mole of water

1 molecule                        =  1/(6.02 * 10^23)  mole of water

2.0 * 10^22 molecules would have   =    (2*10^22) * 1/(6.02*10^23)

                                                             = 0.033

2* 10 ^22 molecules of water would have 0.033 moles of water.

Give the ΔH value for the decomposition of silver chloride as shown in the reaction 2AgCl(s)+127 kJ→2Ag(s)+Cl2(g).
choli [55]

Answer: \Delta H=+127kJ

Explanation:

2AgCl(s)+127kJ\rightarrow 2Ag(s)+Cl_2(g)

Exothermic reactions are defined as the reactions in which energy of the product is lesser than the energy of the reactants. The total energy is released in the form of heat and \Delta H for the reaction comes out to be negative.

Endothermic reactions are defined as the reactions in which energy of the product is greater than the energy of the reactants. The total energy is absorbed in the form of heat and \Delta H for the reaction comes out to be positive.

As the heat is absorbed the reactants , the reaction is endothermic and \Delta H for the given endothermic reaction will be +127 KJ

Consider the reaction below in a closed flask. At 200 o C, the equilibrium constant (Kp) is 2.40 × 103 . 2 NO (g)  N2 (g) + O2
olga55 [171]

Explanation:

Since, the given reaction is as follows.

       2NO(g) \rightleftharpoons N_{2}(g) + O_{2}(g)

Initial:    36.1 atm                 0          0

Change:    2x                      x           x

Equilibrium: (36.1 - 2x)       x            x

Now, expression for K_{p} of this reaction is as follows.

            K_{p} = \frac{[N_{2}][O_{2}]}{[NO]^{2}}

As the initial pressure of NO is 36.1 atm. Hence, partial pressure of O_{2} at equilibrium will be calculated as follows.

              K_{p} = \frac{[N_{2}][O_{2}]}{[NO]^{2}}

        2.40 \times 10^{3} = \frac{x \times x}{(36.1 - 2x)^{2}}

                 x = 18.1 atm

Thus, we can conclude that partial pressure of O_{2} at equilibrium is 18.1 atm.
