His comedies were known to criticize the political elite and also addressed social issues including cultural change and the important role of woman in ancient Greece.
Although, Aristophanes comedies were not only a record of Greek theater, it also contributed immensely into the political and social issues or aspect in ancient Greece. It comedic plays impacted jury services and religious ritual during services in ancient Greece.
Aristophanes was born between 450 and 460 BCE. He died also between 386 and 380 BCE. He was from Athens and actually spent his youthful days in Aegina.
He moved to Aegina with his father. Though there was no record or physical portraits to describe his general body looks but we can come up with the assumption that he was bald. The assumption was based on some of the comment in his work.
