Th rate of weathering is the greatest at typical hot and wet climate.

Explanation:

Affect of Climate of Weathering:

Breaking down of rocks and stones into silt and sediments due to physical, chemical and biological factors. The process of weathering primarily depends upon the climate and temperature.

It has been seen that the weathering occurs faster in the regions with hot and wet climate such as the equatorial regions where rocks rapidly breaks down into soil and sediments. On the flip side, it's been observed that cold and dry climate regions show a lower rate of weathering.

The prime reason of increased weathering in hot and wet climates is the production of weak acids inside the rocks due to the reaction between Carbon di-oxide, water, air and minerals present in the rocks. This makes the rocks fragile and weak and hence, break them down into silts and sediments in the fastest rate as compared in the cold and dry regions.

If the inital pressure of an ideal gas at a temperature of 344 K is 0.917 atm, what is the pressure of the gas at 322 K?
Gennadij [26K]

Answer: P2 = 0.858 atm

Explanation:

Use the combined gas law: P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2,

where the subscripts are the initial (1) and final (2) states. Temperature must be in Kelvin. We want P2, so rearrange the equation to solve for P2:

P2 = P1(V1/V2)(T2/T1)

Note how I've arranged the volume and temperature values: as ratios. Now it is easy to cancel units and see what is going to happen to the pressure if we lower the temperature. Since the pressure change is a function of (T2/T1), and we are lowering the temperature (T2), we'd expect this to decrease the pressure.

No information is given on volume, so we'll assume a convenient value of 1 liter. Now enter the data:

P2 = (0.917atm)*(1)*(322K/344K)

P2 = 0.858 atm

The rate law of a reaction is rate = k[D][X]. The units of the rate constant are ________.
bogdanovich [222]

Answer:

D

Explanation:

Hello!

Since the rate must have the following units: mol/(L*s), the suitable units for k, considering that the term [D] [X] leads to mol^2/(L^2) (it means a second order kinetic law), are L/(mol*s), nevertheless, that answer isn't in the given options.
