Pollen is essentially a male plant germ cell .

Like all germ cells it is produced in the process of meiosis. In this process, the diploid cells (cells that have two sets of chromosomes) divide into two haploid cells (cells that have one set of chromosomes).

In our example, the diploid mother cell has a SS Tt genotype. This essentially means that the cell has two alleles of the same gene on a different chromosome in the chromosome pair.

When the cell divides, it can give only one allele to the haploid cell.

For the S gene, this cell has two identical dominant alleles( SS genotype), therefore, it can only give the dominant allele to the haploid cell.

As for the T gene, this cell has two different alleles, one dominant and one recessive (Tt genotype) and therefore can give either the dominant (T) or the recessive (t) allele to the haploid germ cell (the pollen).

So, the possible genetic combinations are

ST if the dominant T allele is passed

St if the recessive t allele is passed

The answer is preserving biodiversity. It can be well-defined as the biological changeability among all living plants and animals of the earth as an outcome of the evolution procedures and contains of three levels of biological diversity which are genetic diversity, species diversity and ecosystem diversity.

Explain how prokaryotes can reproduce sexually and asexually.  In this discussion be sure to explain how the genetic material fr
Alexxx [7]

Answer:

During the asexual reproduction, bacteria can divide simply by binary fission in which one bacteria first replicate its genetic material and the cell divide in two daughter cells which are identical to the parent cell.

Asexual reproduction does not allow genetic variation therefore to get genetic variation bacteria can use conjugation, transformation and transduction process.

In conjugation, bacteria gets extra genetic material from other bacteria through sex pills. In transduction the genetic material enters into the bacterial cell through the virus then bacteria incorporate this genetic material in its genome.

In transformation, bacteria takes up the extra genetic material from it's surrounding. Therefore conjugation, transduction, and transformation helps bacterial to gain variation like as in sexual reproduction.
