Area of the shaded region = Area of a square - Area of a circle

Side of a square = 2r
Area of a square = (2r)² = 4r²

Area of a circle = πr²

Area of the shaded region = 4r² - πr² = r²(4-π)

10. Write (2x + 1)(x - 3)(x - 2) in standard form.
Leto [7]

Answer:

2x^3-9x^2+7x+6

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard form of a polynomial is a method of writing a polynomial such that the terms are organized by degrees. In essence, the first term, or the left-most term has the highest degree or largest exponent. The right-most term or last term has the lowest degree or smallest exponent. One is given an expression in factored form. Distribute, multiply every term by another in the parenthesis, then simplify. Repeat this process until there are no more factored terms. Finally, rewrite the expression in standard form.

(2x+1)(x-3)(x-2)

Distribute,

(2x+1)(x-3)(x-2)

((2x)(x)+(-3)(2x)+(1)(x)+(1)(-3))(x-2)

Simplify,

((2x)(x)+(-3)(2x)+(1)(x)+(1)(-3))(x-2)

(2x^2-6x+x-3)(x-2)

(2x^2-5x-3)(x-2)

Distribute,

(2x^2-5x-3)(x-2)

(2x^2)(x)+(-5x)(x)+(-3)(x)+(-2)(2x^2)+(-2)(-5x)+(-3)(-2)

Simplify,

(2x^2)(x)+(-5x)(x)+(-3)(x)+(-2)(2x^2)+(-2)(-5x)+(-3)(-2)

2x^3-5x^2-3x-4x^2+10x+6

2x^3-9x^2+7x+6

This polynomial is already in standard form, thus there is no need to reorganize it. The leading term or the left-most term has the highest degree, three, the succeeding terms are in respective order of decreasing exponents.

What are the x-coordinates for the maximum points in the function f(x)=4cos(2x-pi) from x=0 to x=2pi
prisoha [69]
The answer to the problem is as follows:

Well isn't the range of y=cos(u) is [-1,1]

So the max value for y=cos(u) is 1

And the min value for y=cos(u) is -1 --

So the max value for f(x)=4cos(u) is:

f(u)=4cos(u)

I hope my answer has come to your help. God bless and have a nice day ahead!

Please help me with this question. only put the real answer down.

Direct variations look like this (y = 3x_
Not direct variations (or inverse variations) look like this (y= 1/3x.) They are often in fraction form.

So, in your problem the direct variations are:
y= 3x
x = -1
-0.5x = y
y= 2.2x +7
y= 4

The non-direct variations are:
y = 2/7x
