There really isn't a answer. Let me explain, this is a function. A function shows what operation you have to do to get a y value or any kind of value. Whenever it has a f(x) or any variable in the 'x' part you will automatically know that it's a function. So what you do is substitute any number for the variable that's there, any number, whether it's 100 or 1. So in this case a x is what we have to put in a substitute for. So let's try 1. 1x3 = 3, 3+7 is 10. So the function of x for 1 is 10. Now keep doing that and you'll get numbers which will turn into points in a graph (when we substituted in a 1 and got a result that's the y value) and that's the "answer".

Sam and Liam raced each other up and then down the hill. Sam's average speed up the hill was 1 mph, and his average speed down w
Furkat [3]

Answer:

Sam's time was 1 hour and 6.66 minutes (or 1 and 1/9 hours)

Liam's time was was 1 hour

So in conclusion, Liam was faster

Step-by-step explanation:

We got Sam's time by 1/1 because Sam was walking 1 mph and the length to reach the top of the hill is 1 mile. So it would take Sam 1 hour to walk 1 mile. Walking down the hill Sam's speed was 9 mph. So the equation would be 1/9. So you would get 1/9. 1/9 of 60 is 6.66 repeating.

For Liam it is pretty simple. Since he is going up the hill at 2 mph and the length of the bottom of the hill to the top is 1 mile, it would be 30 minutes. Repeat this for the top to the bottom and in total it would be 1 hour.

Hope this helps

Find the constant of variation for the relation and use it to write an equation for the statement. Then solve the equation
Olenka [21]

Answer:

y = \frac{49}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that y varies directly as x then the equation relating them is

y = kx ← k is the constant of variation

To find k use the condition y = 7 when x = 3

k = \frac{y}{x} = \frac{7}{3}, thus

y = \frac{7}{3} x ← equation of variation

When x = 7, then

y = \frac{7}{3} × 7 = \frac{49}{3}

tims math homework is on five consecutive pages in the math textbook, and the sum of those page numbers is 630. what is the page
Brrunno [24]

Answer:129

Step-by-step explanation:

630/5 is 126. Add 126, two numbers below it, and two above it. So, 124+125+126+127+128=630. The next page is 129

Sin θ = 12/37. Find tan θ.
ivann1987 [24]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

Use SOHCAHTOA.

sinθ = \frac{opposite}{hypotenuse}

Opposite side length= 12

Hypotenuse length = 37

Find the adjacent side length (b) using the Pythagorean theorem.

12^2 + b^2 = 37^2

b = 35

tanθ = \frac{opposite}{adjacent} = 12/35

Choice B is the correct answer.
