How do the laws of thermodynamics relate to the transformation of energy in organisms? Use the terms autotroph and heterotroph w
yarga [219]

Answer:

he organisms that can fix energy from inorganic sources into organic molecules are called autotrophs. Organisms that cannot make their food from inorganic sources but depend on energy rich organic molecules synthesized by autotrophs for their energy needs are called heterotrophs.

The only source of energy for all the ecosystems of the earth is the sun. Light falling on the plants is trapped by the producers or autotrophs in the presence of chlorophyll and is used in synthesizing the organic food called glucose by the process of photosynthesis. By photosynthesis radiant energy of sunlight is transformed into potential energy of food. A part of this energy is trapped by the producers while the rest of the energy is dissipated. The remaining part of energy which is used in the synthesis of plant biomass is called photosynthate which is then available to the next trophic level in the food chain that is the consumers or heterotrophs. In an ecosystem there is a unidirectional flow of energy.

Which explanation provides support for continental drift theory?
Luba_88 [7]

Answer and explanation:

Among the main evidences of the theory of continental drift, we can mention the fit of the lines of the coasts of several continents, In addition to the similarity between several relief structures and rocks in different continents (such as mountain ranges found in South America and on the east coast of Africa).

There are also records of fossils of identical extinct plants, found on the African continent and also in countries like Australia, India and Brazil, for example.

Identical reptile fossils have also been found in Africa and South America, in addition to several correlations in the distribution of aquatic dinosaur fossils that lived in common areas of the ancient supercontinent.

Based on the experiment in the scenario, which visual aid would be most helpful in showing the change in plants’ height overtime
Ahat [919]

Answer:

Option C, Bar graph

Explanation:

A bar graph is used to graphically represent a comparative data set where data belonging to different categories is presented.

Here the different categories shall consists of  "different environment exposure" given to plant and under all the “exposed environmental condition” the growth of plant is compared. The categories can be kept on both horizontal and vertical axis of the graph.

Thus, a bar graph (either vertical or horizontal) would be the best to present this data set.

Which Molecules I needed to cut and copy segment in DNA
dimaraw [331]

Answer:

Biological catalyst has to be cut.

Explanation:

  • Enzymes are called "Biological catalyst".
  • Enzymes are called Biological catalysts because they diminish the activation energy for reactions. As the activation energy is reduced the rate of reaction is increased.
  • Many enzymes modify their state when substrates bind and it is known as "Induced fit".
  • Enzymes are nothing but Protein(Biological molecules). Most of the biological reactions are catalyzed by Protein.
  • Enzymes improve the rate of synthetic reactions without getting altered forever by the reaction.
  • For this reason Biological catalyst are needed to be cut and copy segemnte in DNA.
