The nail sticks to the magnet due to the magnetism in the magnet. The magnet induces magnetic domains into the object attached to it such that it magnetic domains in the object are aligned to the magnetic field of the magnet.

The nail will stick to the magnet because it will become magnetized.Also because the north pole in the magnet rearranges the magnet domains inside the steel so that their south poles all point toward the north pole of the permanent magnet

If m<9=130°, what is m<4?
nikklg [1K]

From the diagram provided, the two lines that are left and right of each other are parallel and are cut by a transversal. That means,

\begin{gathered} \angle9=\angle5\text{ (corresponding angles are equal)} \\ \text{Similarly,} \\ \angle8=\angle4\text{ (corresponding angles are equal)} \end{gathered}

If angle 9 equals 130, then angle 8 equals,

\begin{gathered} 130+\angle8=180\text{ (angles on a straight line sum up to 180)} \\ \angle8=180-130 \\ \angle8=50 \end{gathered}

If angle 8 equals angle 4, then angle 4 equals 50 degrees
