The formula is y=mx+b
To get the slope or m, use this formula
(the second y minus the first y)/(the second x minus the first x)
Now set it up.
(10-7)/(2--1)
3/3=slope is 1.
y=1x+b

Insert one of the points for x and y.
i will do (-1,7)
7=1(-1)+b
7=-1+b
8=b
Insert this into the final equation:
y=1x+8

Try it out. If you're not sure, try both points. If it works, then you set it up correctly.

Which equation represents the line if m=-3/4 and b=2? (1 Point) O y=-2 + 2 x O x + 2 = 12 y = -x + 2 O y = - 2 x - 2
nevsk [136]

Answer:

  • y = -3/4x + 2

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Line formula in slope-intercept form:</u>

  • y = mx + b

<u>Given</u>

  • m = -3/4, b = 2

<u>Then the formula is:</u>

  • y = -3/4x + 2

PLEASE HELP 1) A lake near the Arctic Circle is covered by a 2-meter-thick sheet of ice during the cold winter
vesna_86 [32]

Answer:

a). 2 meters

b). 0.25 meters per week

c). 1.25 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

Thickness of the ice sheet on the lake = 2 meters

Thickness decreases with a constant rate and thickness is modeled by the function,

h(t) = 2 - 0.25t  [t = time or duration in weeks]

a). Initial value of this function will be it's y-intercept,

h(t) = 2 meters

b). Rate of the melting of this sheet  (slope of the line) = 0.25 meter per week

c). After 3 weeks or t = 3 weeks,

h(3) = 2 - 0.25 × (3)

      = 2 - 0.75

      = 1.25 meters
