So you can use parenthases to group
(-6)+(-6)-(-2)
you can add the 2 negatives
(-12)-(-2)
if you subtract a negative it's like taking away a minus or adding
(-12)+(2)
(-10)

-6+ -6- -2
Adding a negative is the same as subtracting a positive.
-6 - 6 - -2
Subtracting a negative is the same as adding a positive.
-6 - 6 + 2
Subtracting a number from a negative number is like adding the positive numbers, just remember to put the negative sign in front of the number.
-12 + 2
Adding a positive number to a negative number is like subtracting a positive from another positive, but don't forget the negative sign when you're done.
-12 +2 = -10

Answer:

The value of k is 1.

Step-by-step explanation:

x – 1 is a factor of f(x)

This means that:

x - 1 = 0

x = 1

That means that when x = 1, y = 0. We use this to find the value of k.

f(x) = 3x^3 - 4x + k

3*1^3 - 4(1) + k = 0

3 - 4 + k = 0

k = 1

The value of k is 1.

Exact value of cos45
Anit [1.1K]

It's a value you should probably memorize:

\cos45^\circ=\dfrac{\sqrt2}2=\dfrac1{\sqrt2}

You can derive it using some trigonometric identities, other known values of cosine, and properties of the cosine function. For example, using the double angle identity for cosine:

\cos^2x=\dfrac{1+\cos2x}2

If x=45^\circ, then

\cos^245^\circ=\dfrac{1+\cos90^\circ}2

and you probably know that \cos90^\circ=0, so

\cos^245^\circ=\dfrac12

When we take the square root, we should take the positive root because \cos x>0 whenever 0^\circ:

\cos45^\circ=+\sqrt{\dfrac12}\implies\cos45^\circ=\dfrac1{\sqrt2}

-10 is equal to 5 subtracted from a number
kumpel [21]

-10 is equal to 5 subtracted from a number

Assume that the number is x

So the equation will be

-10=x-5

we put x at first because in subtraction the number after the word "from" comes first

Now let us find x

We need to move 5 to the left side to find x, so add 5 to both sides

\begin{gathered} -10+5=x-5+5 \\ -5=x \end{gathered}

The number is
