A and a' are vertical angles, therefore a' = a

We know: The sum of the measures of triangle is always 180°.

Therefore: a' + b + d = 180° → d = 180° - a - b.

d and c are adjacent angles, therefore d + c = 180°

substitute

180° - a - b+ c = 180°    |-180°
-a - b + c = 0    |+a  |+b
c = a + b

if you place a 5ft ladder against the top of a 4ft building how many feet will the bottom of the ladder be from the bottom of th
nika2105 [10]

Answer:

3 ft.

Step-by-step explanation:

When you imagine the sentence, it is a right angled triangle. In this case, it's a Pythagoras Theorem. The formula for it is:

a²(opposite) + b²(adjacent) = c²(hypotenuse)

The building is the opposite, the distance between the foot of the ladder and the building is the adjacent, while the ladder is the hypotenuse.

We have the measurements except for the adjacent. So it will be:

c² - a² = b²

5² - 4² = b²

25 - 16 = b²

9 = b²

√9 = b

b = 3 ft

The answer is 3 ft.

Use and method to find the total number of outcomes in each situation.
Maksim231197 [3]
<h3>Answer:  6</h3>

===========================================================

Explanation:

Think of a table that has 2 rows and 3 columns.

Each row represents a different math class (either Algebra or Geometry).

Each column represents a different foreign language class (French, Spanish or Latin).

This table has 2*3 = 6 cells inside. Each cell represents a different combination of classes possible.

In short, all we have to do is multiply the number of classes for each subject.
