An invasive species is not limited by species, it can be any living organism nonnative to an ecosystem. An invasive species can often cause a decline on resources and carrying capacities. They are known to spread rapidly and/or pose threat to an environment. They can effect a foreign environment rapidly and often very negatively, which is why people tend to try and contain such outbreaks.
