The total mass is the sum of mass of KCl and mass of water:

total mass = 38 g + 225 g

total mass = 263 g

Therefore the mass percent of KCl is:

% KCl = (38 g / 263 g) * 100%

% KCl = 14.45%

Describe the relationship between the mole and molar mass. Be prepared to describe the process for converting between moles and
malfutka [58]

Answer:

The molar mass of any substance is the mass in grams of one mole of representative particles of that substance. ... In such a conversion, we use the molar mass of a substance as a conversion factor to convert mole units into mass units (or, conversely, mass units into mole units).

In class we derived the Gibbs energy of mixing for a binary mixture of perfect gases. We also discussed that the same result is
GaryK [48]

Answer:

Attached below

Explanation:

Free energy of mixing = ΔGmix = Gf - Gi

attached below is the required derivation of the

a) Molar Gibbs energy of mixing

ΔGmix = Gf - Gi

hence : ΔGmix = ∩RT ( X1 In X1 + X2 In X2 + X3 In X3 + ------- )

b) molar excess Gibbs energy of mixing

Ni = chemical potential of gas

fi = Fugacity

N°i = Chemical potential of gas when Fugacity = 1

ΔG = RT In ( a2 / a1 )
