Hey there!

The interior angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees. The only set of angles that add up to 180 is 90, 45, 45. 90+45+45=180. So the answer is the last one.

I hope this helps!

The rectangular rug in Marcia's living room measures 12 feet by 109 inches. What is the rug's area in square feet?
Marrrta [24]

Answer:

109 square feet.

Step-by-step explanation:

109 in: = 109/12 = 9.0833333.... = 9 5/60 = (540+5)/60 = 545/60

Area = L*w

L = 545/60 feet

W = 12 feet

Area = 545/60 *  12

Area = 545*12/60

Area = 545 /5 = 109 square feet.

To the nearest tenth, find the perimeter of ABC with vertices A(-1,4), B(-2,1) and C(2,1). show your work
liubo4ka [24]

we have to firstly apply the distance formula to find the length of sides of the triangle

distance formula = \sqrt{(x_{2} -x_{1})^2 +(y_{2}- y_{1})^2}

So length AB = \sqrt{(-2-(-1))^2+(1-4)^2}= \sqrt{1 +9}=\sqrt{10}

BC= \sqrt{(2-(-2))^2+(1-1)^2}= \sqrt{16+0}=4

AC = \sqrt{(2-(-1))^2+ (1-4)^2}= \sqrt{9+9}=\sqrt{18}=3\sqrt{2}

Now perimeter = AB+BC+AC = \sqrt{10}+4+3\sqrt{2}

Plug in calculator

perimeter= 11.4 units

When you would not need to use the quadratic formula
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer: When the quadratic equation  can be factored or solved by completing the square, you do not need to use the quadratic formula

Step-by-step explanation: In the form   ax² + bx + c

Whenever <em><u>a</u></em> is 1 (implied, no coefficient of x²) and the constant,  <u><em>c</em></u>, is a multiple of numbers whose sum or difference is equal to <u><em>b</em></u>, factoring is much quicker and easier than using the quadratic formula.

Even when there is a coefficient of x², there are procedures to find the factors and solve for x without resorting to the quadratic formula.
