Answer:

A solution mixture is a homogenous mixture of two or more substances where one substance has dissolved the other.

A Colloid mixture is a homogenous mixture where the particles are small enough that they stay suspended. and are evenly distributed throughout another substance.

A Suspension mixture is a type of heterogeneous mixture where solid particles do not dissolve in a liquid solution

An example of a solution mixture are salt water, rubbing alcohol, and sugar dissolved in water. When you look closely, upon mixing salt with water, you can't see the salt particles anymore, making this a homogeneous mixture

An example of a colloid mixture include whipped cream, mayonnaise, milk, butter, gelatin, jelly, muddy water, plaster, colored glass, and paper. Every colloid consists of two parts: colloidal particles and the dispersing medium

An example of a suspension mixture is water and sand When mixed up, the sand will disperse throughout the water. If left alone, the sand will settle to the bottom.

Which compound is an electrolyte?
(1) C6H12O6 (3) CaCl2
(2) CH3OH (4) CCl4
slavikrds [6]
I think the correct answer is option 3. CaCl2 is the compound that is an electrolyte when dissolved in water. An electrolyte is a substance that conducts electricity in solution. Calcium Chloride when in solution dissociates into ions which allows the flow of current in the solution.

Calculate the percent activity of the radioactive isotope strontium-89 remaining after 5 half-lives.
maria [59]
The answer to this question would be: 3.125%

Half-life is the time needed for a radioactive molecule to decay half of its mass. In this case, the strontium-89 is already gone past 5 half lives. Then, the percentage of the mass left after 5 half-lives should be:
100%*(1/2^5)= 100%/32=3..125%

The vapor pressure of water at 80 °C is 355.3 torr. Calculate the vapor pressure in mm Hg and atm. Be sure your answers have the
Darya [45]

Answer:

0.4675 atm, 355.3 mmHg

Explanation:

Given:

Pressure = 355.3 torr

The conversion of P(torr) to P(atm) is shown below:

P(torr)=\frac {1}{760}\times P(atm)

So,

Pressure = 355.3 / 760 atm = 0.4675 atm

The conversion of P(torr) to P(mmHg) is shown below:

P(torr)=1\times P(mmHg)

So,

Pressure = 355.3 mmHg

The new pressure, P₂ is 6000 atm.

Calculation:

Given,

P₁ = 1.5 atm

V₁ = 40 L = 40,000 mL

V₂ = 10 mL

To calculate,

P₂ =?

Boyle's law is applied here.

According to Boyle's law, at constant temperature, a gas's volume changes inversely with applied pressure.

                                        PV = constant

Therefore,

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

Put the above values in the equation,

1.5 × 40,000 = P₂ × 10

P₂  = 1.5 × 4000

P₂  = 6000 atm

Therefore, the new pressure, P₂ is 6000 atm.
