Answer: Smaller than it actually is.

Explanation:

The person is behind the moving siren, and in this case, we assume that the siren is moving away from the man. By the Doppler effect, we know that a wave that comes from a source that is moving away will suffer a "redshift", which means that the wavelength increases a little bit, now, as you may know, the relation between the wavelength and the frequency comes by the equation:

velocity = wavelength/frequency.

If we keep the velocity constant (the velocity of the sound is the same independent of the frequency) then, if we have an increase in the wavelength, we must have a decrease in the frequency to maintain the velocity constant. From this, we can see that a redshift is also associated with a decrease in the frequency of the wave.

Then, the person behind the moving siren will interpret the frequency as being smaller than it actually is.

A person that is standing behind a moving siren will interpret the frequency to be lower compared to the person that would be standing in front of it. This is because the sound is now moving away from the person behind the siren and at this point the sound is juts lingering but, still very low.

A gold bar has a density of 19.3 g/mL. If the gold bar has a mass of 6.3 grams, what is the volume?
Natali [406]

Answer:

The correct answer is "0.32 mL".

Explanation:

The given values are:

Density of gold bar,

d = 19.3 g/mL

Mass of gold bar,

m = 6.3 grams

Now,

The volume will be:

⇒  Density = \frac{Mass}{Volume}

or,

⇒  Volume=\frac{Mass}{Density}

On substituting the values, we get

⇒               =\frac{6.3 \ g}{19.3 \ g/mL}

⇒               =0.32 \ mL

Which statement best describes the work and energy in these examples?
solniwko [45]

Answer: <u>Option A: </u>The gas and food are examples of energy.

Explanation:

Work and energy are inter-related. Energy is required to do the work. An equal amount of energy is converted into work. Work and energy have same units. The SI unit is Joule.

The gas and food are sources of energy. They act as fuel. This energy is utilized to perform work. The gas is used to run the car. The food is metabolized inside the body which is a source of energy and utilized to perform every day work.

Hence, The gas and food are examples of energy.

Using parallax, what is the distance to the<br> farthest stars you can measure?
aev [14]
Parallax angles of less than 0.01 arcsec are very difficult to measure from Earth because of the effects of the Earth's atmosphere. This limits Earth based telescopes to measuring the distances to stars about 1/0.01 or 100 parsecs away.

A circular loop of wire having a radius of 5.58 cm carries a current of 0.230 A. A vector of unit length and parallel to the dip
Sidana [21]

Answer:

see explanation

Explanation:

Given quantities:

radius = r = 0.0558 [m]

current = I = 0.23 [A]

\vec{B} =

Now we solve this by obtaining the torque acting on the dipole

\tau = M \times B

We obtain the magnetic moment vector M, first, |M| is defined as M = IA, where A is the cross-section area of the loop which is A = \pi r^2=\pi (0.0558)^2= 0.00978 [m^2] then

|M| = 0.23*0.00978 = 0.00225 [A/m^2]

now the magnetic moment vector is equal to the magnetic dipole moment vector multiplied the magnitude we just obtained  \vec{M} = M \hat M

= 0.00225 *

Now:

a ) \tau = M \times B

b) U = -M \cdot B

a) the determinant gives us:

b) the dot product gives = -1*-7.2*10^{-6} = 7.2*10^{-6}[J]
