Answer:

Not a Solution

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given two inequalities which are

y ≤ x -4                        .............(i)

-x+3y>-4                       ............(ii)

Also we are given an ordered pair which is (5, 1/3)

Now from this order pair we see that

x = 5 and y = 1/3

Because in an ordered pair the first element represents the x value while the second value represent the y value

Now to find whether this order pair satisfies the given inequality or not we have to plugin the values of x and y in both inequalities separately and see whether it satisfies the in equality or not

Taking First inequality:

which is

y ≤ x -4

Putting x = 5 and y = 1/3 in inequality

it becomes

\frac{1}{3} ≤ 5 -4

\frac{1}{3} ≤ 1             ∵ which is true

So this inequality holds the order pair

Taking second inequality:

which is

-x+3y> -4

Putting x = 5 and y = 1/3 in inequality

it becomes

-5+\frac{1*3}{3} >  -4

-5+1 >-4

-4>-4                            ∵ which is false because - 4 = - 4

So this inequality does not holds the order pair

So the order pair is not solution of the given inequalities because of the reason that second inequality is not satisfied

On a map, 3 inches represents 50 miles. Which proportion can be used to find the actual distance represented by 5 inches on the
asambeis [7]

The correct proportion that can be used to find the actual distance  represented by 5 inches on the map is start fraction over 50 end fraction=start fraction 50 over 5 end fraction which is 3/50=5/x.

Given that 3 inches on a map represents 50 miles.

We are told to find the proportion which can be used to represent 5 inches.

Multiplication is basically finding the product of two numbers but it can be used to convert the units also.

If 3 inches represents 50 miles then,

1 mile=50/3

Multiply both sides by 5.

5 miles=5*50/3

If we see the options then we will get that the most appropriate and correct option which represents 5 inches is that start fraction over 50 end fraction=start fraction 50 over 5 end fraction which is 3/50=5/x.

Hence the correct proportion that can be used to find the actual distance represented by 5 inches on the map is start fraction over 50 end fraction=start fraction 50 over 5 end fraction which is 3/50=5/x.

Alina [70]

Answer:

The new volume will be 3 3/8 or maybe 27/8 of its original volume.

Step-by-step explanation:

Cone Volume = PI * radius^2 * height / 3

So if radius = 1 and height = 1 then volume = 1.0472

When radius = 3 and height = .375 then volume = 3.5343

Volume increases by 3.5343 / 1.0472 = 3 and 3/8
