Answer:

Not a Solution

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given two inequalities which are

y ≤ x -4 .............(i)

-x+3y>-4 ............(ii)

Also we are given an ordered pair which is (5, 1/3)

Now from this order pair we see that

x = 5 and y = 1/3

Because in an ordered pair the first element represents the x value while the second value represent the y value

Now to find whether this order pair satisfies the given inequality or not we have to plugin the values of x and y in both inequalities separately and see whether it satisfies the in equality or not

Taking First inequality:

which is

y ≤ x -4

Putting x = 5 and y = 1/3 in inequality

it becomes

\frac{1}{3} ≤ 5 -4

\frac{1}{3} ≤ 1 ∵ which is true

So this inequality holds the order pair

Taking second inequality:

which is

-x+3y> -4

Putting x = 5 and y = 1/3 in inequality

it becomes

-5+\frac{1*3}{3} > -4

-5+1 >-4

-4>-4 ∵ which is false because - 4 = - 4

So this inequality does not holds the order pair

So the order pair is not solution of the given inequalities because of the reason that second inequality is not satisfied

anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

Molly with 15 cookies decorated

Step-by-step explanation:

Turn percentage into decimals.

35%=.35

30%=.30

Sue baked 40 and decorated 35% (40*.35=14)

Molly baked 50 and decorated 30% (50*.30=15)

salantis [7]

Answer:

0.5

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 15 pieces of the same size candy in the bag. Two are orange flavored, six cherry flavored. So the probability of picking an orange or a cherry flavored candy is 6/15+2/15=8/15≈0.5

suppose you know that over the last 10 years, the porbabiliy that your town would have at least one ma jor stor was 40%. describ
Anuta_ua [19.1K]

Answer:

The probability of a big storm is 40%.

Now, you can find a D10 (a die with 10 faces)

You can assign 4 numbers (0, 1, 2, 3) to the event "there is a major storm"

in this way, you have 40% of having a storm.

and the other 6 numbers (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) to the event "there is not a major storm". This means that we have 60% of not having a storm.

now, when you roll the dice you can see if a year there will be a storm or not.

Now, you roll the dice 5 times (for the 5 years) and take note of the results and the number of storms in those 5 rolls.

Now do the same thing a bunch of times, at least 25 times.

Now, you recorded the results in each set of rolls, now see the number of sets that have at least years with storms.

Take that number and divide it by the total number of sets of data (in this case 25, for example)

The result is the probability that we are looking for.

Find the value of x that makes m || n
ch4aika [34]

Answer:

x=133

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: m║n

This means that 147 and x+14 are alternate exterior angles. This also means that they are equivalent. We can use this information to set up an equation:

x+14=147

Subtract 14 from both sides to isolate x

x=133
