Communitive property is the property that allows you to move the numbers around in addition and multiplication.

For example:
(addition) 1 + 2 = 2 + 1
(multiplication) 3 x 4 = 4 x 3

This property cannot be used in division or subtraction

Simplifyng algebraic expressions<br><br>-2z-3w+7+8 use z=3 and w=9
Anettt [7]

Answer:

-9

Step-by-step explanation:

Substitute 3 for <em>z</em><em> </em>and 9 for <em>w</em> in the equation.

- 2z - 3w + 7 + 8

- 2(3) - 3(9) + 15

- 6 - 18 + 15

- 24 + 15

- 9

A study was designed to investigate the effects of two variables, (1) A student's level of mathematical anxiety and (2) teach
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

P(X>400)=P(\frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{400-\mu}{\sigma})=P(Z>\frac{400-440}{20})=P(z>-2)

And we can find this probability using the complement rule:

P(z>-2)=1-P(z

And in order to find these probabilities we can find tables for the normal standard distribution, excel or a calculator.

P(z>-2)=1-P(z

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The Z-score is "a numerical measurement used in statistics of a value's relationship to the mean (average) of a group of values, measured in terms of standard deviations from the mean".

Solution to the problem

Let X the random variable that represent the scores of a population, and for this case we know the distribution for X is given by:

X \sim N(440,20)

Where \mu=440 and \sigma=20

We are interested on this probability

P(X>440)

And the best way to solve this problem is using the normal standard distribution and the z score given by:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

If we apply this formula to our probability we got this:

P(X>400)=P(\frac{X-\mu}{\sigma}>\frac{400-\mu}{\sigma})=P(Z>\frac{400-440}{20})=P(z>-2)

And we can find this probability using the complement rule:

P(z>-2)=1-P(z

And in order to find these probabilities we can find tables for the normal standard distribution, excel or a calculator.

P(z>-2)=1-P(z

If you roll two number cubes, what is the probability of their sum being equal to a value of seven or higher?
rodikova [14]
If the cubes are die such that each face has numbers from 1 to 6. Rolling two of them, there are 6x6 or 36 ways in which they may be arranged. For their numbers to sum to 7, the numbers should be 1 and 6, 2 and 5, 2 and 6, 3 and 4, 3 and 5, 3 and 6, 4 and 3, 4 and 4, 4 and 5, 4 and 6, 5 and 2, 5 and 3, 5 and 4, 5 and 5, 5 and 6, 6 and 1, 6 and 2, 6 and 3, 6 and 4, 6 and 5, 6 and 6. All in all there are 21 out of 36 and the probability is equal to 7/12.
