Mathematics

Answer:

21.46 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

because the question want only for the SHADED REGION but NOT AREA OF THE SQUARE

(if we just multiply 10x10. you will get the area of a square which is hundered)

To find the shaded region:

1. area of a circle is πr² (we have 4 circle there)

2. Find the area of all circle

# how do we know the radius?

- half of 10 is 5

- 5 is the diameter of each circle

- the radius is half of 5 which is 2.5

- π(2.5)² = 25/4π (area of 1 circle)

3. since we have 4 circle then, 25/4π x 4 = 25π

4. the area of the square is 100cm²

5. we want the shaded region so we have to minus the area of the circle

6. 100 - 25π (use your calculator to find the answer)

answer should be 21.46 cm²

(hope this helps)

Sati [7]

Answer:

1. 9461000000000

move the desimal in 9.461 12 places to the right to get:

9461000000000

2.

5.85 x 10^-3,

2.5 x 10^-1,

3.6 x 10^8,

8.5 x 10^8,

8.5 x 10^12

the smallest exponent is the smallest. Since 8.5 x 10^8 and 3.6 x 10^8 have the same exponent, go to the desimal

Leah walks to soccer practice on Saturday. She leaves her home and walks 600 meters north. Leah then turns east and continues on
Diano4ka-milaya [45]

Answer:

800m

Step-by-step explanation:

this would be solved using Pythagoras theorem

we are to find the base

The Pythagoras theorem : a² + b² = c²

where a = length

b = base

c =  hypotenuse

600² + b² = 100²

b² = 10000 - 3600

b² = 6400

take the square root of both sides

b = 800m

Aleks [24]

Answer:

x = 4 sqrt(5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Since this is a right triangle, we can use the Pythagorean theorem

a^2 + b^2 = c^2 where a and b are the legs and c is the hypotenuse

8^2 + x^2 = 12^2

64+ x^2 =144

Subtract 64 from each side

x^2 = 144-64

x^2 =80

Take the square root of each side

sqrt(x^2) = sqrt(80)

x = sqrt(16*5)

x = 4 sqrt(5)
