6 0

set y = kx+b

for (4,-2): -2=4k+b (function 1)

for (-1,8): 8=-k+b (function 2)

Use function 2 subtract function 1:

10=-5k

k=-2

SO the slope is -2.

Solve.
nikklg [1K]
The answer would be D. (3, -4).

Work:
3 = x
-4 = y
3 • 5 = 15
-4 • 2 = -8
15 + -8 = 7

To check: y = x - 7
-4 = 3 - 7
3 - 7 = -4
