If it's your first encounter with chemistry, your instructor will want you to learn how to use the periodic table<span> to find the atomic mass (</span>atomic weight<span>) of an element. This number usually is given below an element's symbol. Look for the decimal number, which is a </span>weighted average of the atomic masses<span> of all the </span>natural isotopes<span> of an element. </span>

6.0 L of oxygen gas is at a temperature of 5K. If the temperature of the gas is lowered to 1K at constant pressure, what is the
DerKrebs [107]

Answer:

THE NEW VOLUME AT 1 K IS 1.2 L

Explanation:

Using Charles' law which states that the volume of a given gas is directly proportional to its temperature provided the pressure remains constant.

Mathematically written as;

V1/T1 = V2/T2   at constant pressure

V1 = Initial volume = 6L

T1 = initial temperature = 5K

T2 = Final temperature = 1K

V2 = final volume = unknown

Re-arranging the equation by making V2 the subject of the equation, we obtain;

V2 = V1 T2 / T1

V2 = 6 * 1 / 5

V2 = 1.2 L

The new volume of the gas sample at 1 K is 1,2 L

If you have 30 atoms of potassium how many atoms of F would need to go with it for all of the atoms of potassium to compound.
NeX [460]
Both Potassium and Fluorine only form one bond. Each potassium atom will donate there electron to 1 fluorine atom to form a bond. Therefore, you will need 30 Fluorine atoms.

For a given sample of ch3oh, the enthalpy change during the reaction is 82.3 kj . how many grams of methane gas are produced?
Leno4ka [110]
The equation is as follows;
 2CH3OH(g) = 2CH4(g) + O2(g), ΔH= +252.8 kJ
From the equation; for the reaction to produce 2 moles of methane (32g) an energy of 252.8 kJ is released.
Therefore; for an energy of 82.3 kJ the number of moles that will be produced will be;    =  (2×82.3)/252.3
                               = 0.6524 moles
                  which is equivalent to 0.6524 × 16 = 10.438 g
There, the mass of CH4 produced will be 10.438 g
