A pitcher throws a softball toward home plate. When the ball hits the catcher’s mitt, its horizontal velocity is 32 meters/secon

d. The softball’s velocity goes to 0 meters/second in 0.8 seconds when caught. If the softball has a mass of 0.2 kilograms, what’s the force of the impact? Use F = ma, where . The force of the impact is newtons.

Answer
8 Newtons

Explanation
The first step is to calculate the acceleration (a) of the ball.

a = (v-u)/t
where a⇒acceleration
           v ⇒final velocity = 0 m/s
           u ⇒initial velocity =32 m/s

∴a = (0 - 32)/0.8
     = -40m/s²
The acceleration is negative indication the softball was decelerating.

Now force of impact;

F = ma
where m⇒ mass of the softball in kilogram

F = 0.2×-40
   = -8

But force can not be negative,
So, impact force =8 Newtons

ANSWER:

C) as the electrons are pushed more by the battery, they move faster through the circuit

EXPLANATION:

Electrons move very slowly. When we supply voltage the current through a wire moves which causes each electron to move in the direction of the flow of current, the electrons which were in random motions previously now move in one direction which is the direction of current,the more we supply the current the faster electrons will move in the circuit,which will cause the current to increase with increase in voltage.

A car jack with a mechanical advantage of 6 needs to produce an output force of 600 N to raise a car. What input force is requir
lisov135 [29]

Answer:

Input force = 100N

Explanation:

Formula

Mechanical Advantage = output force / input force.

Givens

MA = 6

Output Force = 600 N

Input Force = ??

Solution

6 = 600 / x

Multiply both sides by x

6x = (600/x)*x

6x = 600

The xs cancel. Now Divide by 6

6x/6 = 600/6

x = 100 N
