Answer: Kialani is being charge for $ 15.5 for the lily plant.

Step-by-step explanation: Let us assume Price of each orchid plant = $x.

And price for each lily plant = $y.

"8 orchid and 12 lily plants sell for $362".

Therefore,

8x +12y = 362                -------------------(1).

"12 orchid and 8 lily plants sell for $388."

Therefore,

12x+8y = 388                  -------------------(2)

Now, let us solve the system of equations by elimination method.

According to elimination method, we need to make the coefficient of a variable same for both equations and subtract/add them to eliminate.

So, multiplying first equation by 12 and multiplying second equation by -8 and adding, we get

-12*(8x +12y = 362)  =>  96x +144y =4344

   8(12x+8y = 388)    =>  -96x -64y = -3104

                                        ________________

                                                    80y  = 1240

Dividing both sides by 80, we get

80y/80  = 1240/80

y = 15.5.

Therefore, Kialani is being charge for $ 15.5 for the lily plant.

lord [1]

well #7 is a solution.

y= 9x (4,36)

9 times 4 = 36

36/9=4

so the ordered pair is a solution.

y=3x-5 (7,16)

3 times 7 -5= 16

so once again the ordered pair is a solution.

Hoped this helped.
