the surface after 40 seconds. What is the scuba divers rate of change? Can you tell me how to work this out, I don't want a plain answer because I would like to do this on my own. Thanks :)

We can create two points.

30 feet below the surface of the water 10 seconds after he entered the water
100 feet below the surface after 40 seconds

So we have (10, 30) and (40, 100)

Plug this values into the slope formula:

m = y2-y1/x2-x1

m = (100 - 30)/(40 - 10)

m = 70/30

m = 2 1/3

To find the Area of the Cylinder or the coke can you would use the formula A=2πrh+2πr2. R being the radius and H being the height If you plug in the variables 3 for the radius and 8 for the height. You will get 207.35 and you will divide that by your total area. You can make 12(12.90089) cans with the allotted amounted of sheet metal.

Rom4ik [11]
The function is symmetric in the line that goes trough the top. The top is on t=2.5 seconds. If you want to know on which time the height is equal to 15 feet, you draw a line on that height in the graph and see where it crosses. That is at t=1.25 and t=3.75

First, create M (the set of all perfect square roots less than 100)

1² = 1, 2² = 4, 3² = 9, 4² = 16, 5² = 25, 6² = 36, 7² = 49, 8² = 64, 9² = 81, 10² = 100 (disregard 10² since it is not LESS THAN 100)

M = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9} not sure if you want to include the negatives)

Next, create N (the set of all even number less than 30)

N = {2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28}

M ∩ N = {2, 4, 6, 8}
