Physics

Answer:

fall tide

Explanation:

Due to combined effect of gravitational force of the sun and the moon, the sea level rises and falls. These are known as tides.

High tide is when the sea level rises. Low tide refers to the decrease in the sea level.

Spring tide occurs when the difference between high tide and low tide is maximum. This happens when the gravitational pull of the sun and the moon is strongest - when the sun, earth and moon are aligned in a straight line (during full moon and new moon).

Neap tides occur when the difference between the high tides and low tides is minimum. This occurs when the sun, moon and earth are aligned at right angle.

Fall tide is not a type of tide.

What is the wavelength (in nm) of radiation that has an energy content of 1.0x10^2 kJ/mol?
hammer [34]
Energy = h nu, where nu is the frequency
h = 6.63 x 10^-34 J-s, Planck's constant
So nu = E/h = 1 x 10^5 J /h = 0.15 x 10^29 / s
nu lambda = c, the speed of light.
lambda = wavelength = c / nu =3 x 10^8 / 0.15 x 10^29 = 20 x 10^-21 m.

this can possibly be a gamma ray. Gamma rays are very penetrating. It's both matter and an energy. They are electromagnetic radiation that results from a radioactive material.

An 870 N firefighter, F_ff, stands on a ladder that is 8.00 m long and has a weight of 355 N, F_ladder. The weight of the ladder
castortr0y [4]

Answer:

Explanation:

Weight of the ladder is 355N

WL = 355N

The weight of the ladder acts at center of the ladder I.e at 4m from the bottom

Weight of firefighters is 870N

Wf = 870N

The fire fighter is at 6.3m from the bottom of the ladder.

N1 is the normal force exerted by the wall

N2 is the normal force exerted by the ground

Using Newton law

Check attachment

ΣFy = 0, since body is in equilibrium

N₂ - WL - Wf = 0

N₂ = WL + Wf

N₂ = 870 + 355

N₂ = 1225 N

This the normal force exerted by the ground on the wall.

Now to get N₁, let take moment about point A

So, before we take the moment we need to make sure that the forces are perpendicular to the plane(ladder), we need to resolve the weight of the ladder, firefighter and the normal of the wall to be perpendicular to the plane.

ΣMa = 0

Clockwise moment is equal to anti-clockwise moment

Moment Is the produce of force and perpendicular distance.

M = F×r

So,

WL•Cos50 × 4 + Wf•Cos50 × 6.3 —N₁•Sin50 × 8 = 0

355•Cos50 × 4 + 870•Cos50 × 6.3 =

N₁•Sin50 × 8

1825.52 + 3523.12 = 6.13N₁

6.13N₁ = 5348.64

N₁ = 5348.64/6.13

N₁ = 872.54 N.

The normal force exerted by the wall is 872.54N

A boat of mass 250 kg is coasting, with its engine in neutral, through the water at speed 1.00 m/s when it starts to rain with i
bija089 [108]

Answer:

v_o\approx0.7059\ m.s^{-1}

Explanation:

Given:

mass of the boat, m=120\ kg

uniform speed of the boat, v=1\ m.s^{-1}

rate of accumulation of water mass in the boat, \dot m=100\ kg.hr^{-1}

time of observation, t=0.5\ hr

The mass of the boat after the observed time:

m_o=m+\dot m\times t

m_o=120+100\times 0.5

m_o=170\ kg

Now using the conservation of momentum:

m.v=m_o.v_o

120\times 1=170\times v_o

v_o\approx0.7059\ m.s^{-1}

Potencial Energy=hma
Where
Potencial Energy =E= 54.9J

You need to know that 1 J=1(kgm^2)/s^2

Isolate h=E/(ma)
h=(54.9)/(8*9.8)
