Answer:

Theory of spontaneous generation.

Explanation:

Theory of spontaneous generation stated, life arose from non-living things. Pasteur disprove this theory by S-shaped tube experiment. He used swan-neck flasks (twisted necks) and filled them with sterilized beef broth. This allowed entry of air to the flasks from outside, but not microorganisms.

In these sterilized flasks, microorganisms did not grow as there was no entry of airborne microbes. But if the necks were broken, microorganisms entered and allowed growth of microorganisms.

Thus, Pasteur proved life comes from pre-existing life and disproved theory of spontaneous generation.

How can a microscope be used to determine if a specimen is a living thing?
Bumek [7]
Microscopes are one of the laboratory tools used to maximize the visual acuity of a certain specimen, it maybe a living or non-living organism or object. Thus, microscopes are widely used in these laboratories to increase microscopic observation with entities that cannot be perceived thru the naked eye. However, for scientisits to determine such specimen is a living thing if there's a presence of cell. Cell cannot be viewed via the visual organs alone but with the microscope a living specimen can be discerned with its characteristics such as cellular structure, slight and fidgety movement and other particular details..

Cell Division Homework #1 Introduction to Cell Division Directions: Compare and contrast the following pairs of terms:
wel

Answer:

Sister chromatids / centromeres: When a single chromosome has been replicated in copies, each copy is called a sister chromatids.

A special part of the chromosome called the centromere holds the two sister chromatids together. A centromere is like a built-in rubber band for two sister chromosomes.

Mother cell / daughter cell: identical.

Daughter cells are genetically identical to the mother cell at the stage of production through mitosis.

On the other hand, at the stage of production through meiosis, the daughter cells are genetically different and contain only half of the genetic material of the mother cell.

Interphase / cell division: A cell spends most of its time in what is called interphase, and during this time it grows,

replicates its chromosomes, and prepare for cell division.

The cell then leaves Interphase, undergoes mitosis, and completes its division.

DNA / chromosome: Genes are segments of deoxyirbonucleic acid (DNA) that contain the code for specific protein that functions in one or more types of cell in the body

Chromosomes are structures within cells that contains a person's genes. Genes are contained in chromosomes, which are in the cell nucleus.

Mitosis / cytokinesis: Basically, mitosis is a process by which the duplicated genome in a cell is separated into halves that are identical in nature.

Cytokinesis is the process where the cytoplasm of the cell divides to form two 'daughter' cells. The result is the formation of two 'daughter cells', each having a nucleus.

Symptoms of severe anxiety evident in this case include; confusion, sweating, withdrawal, rapid speech, and a perceptual field that is reduced greatly and distorted. The perceptual field is heightened in mild anxiety while in moderate anxiety, the ability to think clearly is hampered but learning and problem solving can still take place. Additionally in panic, communication is unintelligible or there is an inability to speak.

In the phrase "survival of the fittest," the term "fittest" refers to:
nalin [4]

Answer:

A

Explanation:

From what I know this could be wrong, but in the four stages of natural selection, the first step is overproduction, the second step is adaptation, and the third step is competition or survival of the fittest. This means that only the organisms with the best adaptations for their surroundings will survive. COULD BE WRONG SORRY IF IT IS
