Henrietta is going off to her physics class, jogging down the sidewalk at a speed of 3.95 m/s . Her husband Bruce suddenly reali

zes that she left in such a hurry that she forgot her lunch of bagels, so he runs to the window of their apartment, which is a height 39.9 m above the street level and directly above the sidewalk, to throw them to her. Bruce throws them horizontally at a time 6.50 s after Henrietta has passed below the window, and she catches them on the run. You can ignore air resistance.
Part A

Answer:

initial speed  = 12.96 m/s

Explanation:

Given data:

speed 3.95 m/s

height = 39.9 m

we know that time to reached the bottom is

H =\frac{1}{2} gt^2

t = \sqrt{\frac{2H}{g}}

= \sqrt{\frac{2\times 39.9}{9.8}}

t = 2.855 sec

total time taken = 2.85 + 6.50 = 9.35 s

total distance at horizontal d = 3.95\times 9.35 = 36.95 m

speed = \frac{d}{t} = \frac{36.95}{2.85} = 12.96 m/s

Problem Statement: Air flows at a rate of 0.1 kg/s through a device as shown below. The pressure and temperature of the air at l
Tema [17]

Answer:

The answer is "+9.05 kw"

Explanation:

In the given question some information is missing which can be given in the following attachment.

The solution to this question can be defined as follows:

let assume that flow is from 1 to 2 then

Q= 1kw

m=0.1 kg/s

From the steady flow energy equation is:

m\{n_1+ \frac{v^2_1}{z}+ gz_1 \}+Q= m \{h_2+ \frac{v^2_2}{2}+ gz_2\}+w\\\\\ change \ energy\\\\0.1[1.005 \times 800]-1= 0.01[1.005\times 700]+w\\\\w= +9.05 \ kw\\\\

If the sign of the work performed is positive, it means the work is done on the surrounding so, that the expected direction of the flow is right.

What is a gearbox ratio
dem82 [27]

Answer:

Divide one teeth count by the other.

Now that you know how many teeth are on each gear, you can find the gear ratio relatively simply. Divide the driven gear teeth by the drive gear teeth. Depending on your assignment, you may write your answer as a decimal, a fraction, or in ratio
