Sickle cell anemia is an inherited red blood cell disorder in which there aren’t enough healthy red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout your body. These rigid, sticky cells can get stuck in small blood vessels, which can slow or block blood flow and oxygen to parts of the body.

The Sickle cell disease is a genetically inherited deformed cell. These cells are deformed into crescent shaped moons. This is serious and can lead to blood clots. Since these cells are deformed, they usually can’t fit in the capillaries aka tubes that carry blood throughout your body. These sells can block the entrances to the capillaries and cause blood flow to stop being transferred from one area of the body to another.

Naddik [55]

Answer:

A. Neurotransmitters can act as ligands.

B. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter. It can bind to an acetylcholine receptor on the surface of a cell. If this receptor is also a sodium channel, we would call acteylcholine a ligand and its receptor a ligand gated receptor.

Answer:

Explanation:

Neurotransmitter are chemicals that transfer signals between neurons and nerve cells. They control some physical and physiologocal activity such as appetite, food.

Acetycoline is an example of neurotransmitter and it is located in the parasympathetic nervous system. Ligand are substance that form complexes with biomolecule. They serve biological purpose with this biomolecule.

This ligand binds to target site. Neurotransmitter act as ligand by binding to receptor in the postsynaptic neuron and acetycoline a type of neurotransmitter can also serve as ligand they bind to acetycoline receptor on cell surface.

probability of the child having attached earlobes since it is recessive i.e (yy)

=1/4

=0.25 × 100%

=25%

Explanation:

If two heterozygous individuals have a child

i.e let the heterozygous individuals be  = Xy

if both traits crosses together; their F₁ offspring will be;  (XX, Xy, Xy, yy)

Xy  ×   Xy

          X             y

X        XX          Xy

y       Xy            yy

probability of the child having attached earlobes since it is recessive i.e (yy)
