Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune have rings. Although Jupiter looks like it doesn't have it, it is still part of the outer planets.

The outer planets are not close to the sun that is the inner planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars). They have a lot of moons, more than the inner planets. And lastly they don't have rocky surfaces in fact they're surface is clouds and gas.
