Answer:

  1.17 units

Step-by-step explanation:

From the definition of the sine of an angle, you know ...

  sin(45°) = AC/AB = 4/AB   ⇒   AB = 4/sin(45°) ≈ 5.6569

  sin(63°) = AC/AD = 4/AD   ⇒   AD = 4/sin(63°) ≈ 4.4893

Then the difference AB-AD is ...

  AB -AD = 5.6569 -4.4893 = 1.1676

  AB -AD ≈ 1.17 units

** Which of the following is parallel to the line 2x + 4y = 16 (A) y = 2x + 5 (B) y = -x + 4 (C) y = -x + 8 (D) y = 2x + 5 =-
andreev551 [17]

Answer:

None of them.

Step-by-step explanation:

Each and every straight line is of one kind in terms of its pattern: it can be presented in the view of y = kx + b: k is the slope or gradient of the line, b is the y-intercept of the line. I will not let the cat out of the bag if I say that any parallel lines do not intersect one another, hence they should have the same value of coefficient k.

2x + 4y = 16 \Leftrightarrow x + 2y = 8 \Leftrightarrow 2y = -x + 8 \Leftrightarrow y = - \frac{1}{2}x + 4

Therefore, our line has k = - \frac{1}{2} and b = 4 coefficients.

(A) k = 2, b = 5;

(B) k = -1, b = 4;

(С) k = -1, b = 8;

(D) k = 2, b = 5;

Recapitulating this: none of them have the same coefficient k, thus none of them suit us.

Two experiments are to be performed. The first can result in any one of m possible outcomes. If the first experiment results in
Galina-37 [17]

Answer: The first experiment has M probabilities, and the second has I(m) outcomes, that depends on the result of the first.

And lets call m to the result of the first experiment.

If the outcome of the first experiment is 1, then the second experiment has 1 possible outcome.

If the outcome of the first experiment is 2, then the second experiment has 2 possibles outcomes.

If the outcome of the first experiment is M, then the second experiment has M possibles outcomes.

And so on.

So the total number of combinations C is the sum of all the cases, where we exami

1 outcome for m = 1

2 outcomes for m=2

What is 6.78 and 8.21 rounded to tenth nearest tenth
yaroslaw [1]
Here is your answer:

6.78 rounded to the nearest tenth = 7.00 because the 7 in 6.78 is greater then five.

8.21 rounded to the nearest tenth= 8.00 because the 2 in 8.21 is NOT greater than five.

Please help. How do you find cosine, sine, cosecant and secant with this triangle?
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Hi there! You have to remember these 6 basic Trigonometric Ratios which are:

  • sine (sin) = opposite/hypotenuse
  • cosine (cos) = adjacent/hypotenuse
  • tangent (tan) = opposite/adjacent
  • cosecant (cosec/csc) = hypotenuse/opposite
  • secant (sec) = hypotenuse/adjacent
  • cotangent (cot) = adjacent/opposite
  • cosecant is the reciprocal of sine
  • secant is the reciprocal of cosine
  • cotangent is the reciprocal of tangent

Back to the question. Assuming that the question asks you to find the cosine, sine, cosecant and secant of angle theta.

What we have now are:

  • Trigonometric Ratio
  • Adjacent = 12
  • Opposite = 10

Looks like we are missing the hypotenuse. Do you remember the Pythagorean Theorem? Recall it!

  • a²+b² = c²

Define that c-term is the hypotenuse. a-term and b-term can be defined as adjacent or opposite

Since we know the value of adjacent and opposite, we can use the formula to find the hypotenuse.

  • 10²+12² = c²
  • 100+144 = c²
  • 244 = c²

Thus, the hypotenuse is:

\large \boxed{c = 2 \sqrt{61} }

Now that we know all lengths of the triangle, we can find the ratio. Recall Trigonometric Ratio above! Therefore, the answers are:

  • cosine (cosθ) = adjacent/hypotenuse = 12/(2√61) = 6/√61 = (6√61) / 61
  • sine (sinθ) = opposite/hypotenuse = 10/(2√61) = 5/√61 = (5√61) / 61
  • cosecant (cscθ) is reciprocal of sine (sinθ). Hence, cscθ = (2√61/10) = √61/5
  • secant (secθ) is reciprocal of cosine (cosθ). Hence, secθ = (2√61)/12 = √61/6

Questions can be asked through comment.

Furthermore, we can use Trigonometric Identity to find the hypotenuse instead of Pythagorean Theorem.

Hope this helps, and Happy Learning! :)

Will mark brainliest if correct. Find what the measurement of angles a-d are and state the reason
Furkat [3]

Answer: D = 70

              A = 30

Explanation: d is parallel to 70 degrees, 40 is parallel to e, and the whole set of angles is 180 so 180 - 2(70) + 2(40)  = 30 so D = 70 and A = 30
