Answer:  93

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : The 24 students in Ms.Lee class each collected an average of 18 cans for recycling .

Then , the total cans collected in Ms.Lee class :

Average x Number of students

= 18\times24=432

i.e. Total cans collected in Ms.Lee class =432

Also, the 21 students in Mr Galvez class each collected an average of 25 cans for recycling.

Then , the total cans collected in Mr Galvez class :

Average x Number of students

= 25\times21=525

i.e. Total cans collected in Mr Galvez class =525

Difference = Cans collected in Mr Galvez class - Cans collected in Ms.Lee class

=525-432=93

Hence, Mr. Galvez class collected 93 more cans than Ms.Lee class.

This is a case for multiplication of #Students by#Cans and then subtract.

Ms Lee.........
24 students × 18 cans = 432
Mr Galvez...21 students × 25 cans = 525

..525
- 432
= 093

Mr Galvez' s class collected 93 more cans than

The sum of 5 consecutive integers is 205. What is the third number?
Elza [17]
If 5 consecutive integers is 205,

then a + b + c + d + e = 205
but also, each integer is separated  by a difference of 1

⇒  a + (a + 1) + (a + 2) + (a + 3) + (a + 4) = 205
⇒  5a + 10 = 205
⇒            5a = 195
⇒               a = 39

∴ third term = 39 + 2
                     = 41
