mRNA

Messenger RNA is used to copy and encode genetic information from DNA base pairs by forming complementary strand of RNA molecule from the nucleus of the cell to the cytoplasm.

tRNA

Transfer RNA reads sequence of nucleotide from messenger RNA and translate them into proteins or amino acids during proten synthesis.

Transcription

This is the first step in gene expression where information from DNA is copied into a complementary strand of RNA molecule using RNA polymerase enzyme.

Translation

Messenger RNA made from the process of transcription travels to the ribosomes in the cytoplasm where proteins are produced using transfer RNA to copy the information.

The use of DNA to make proteins.

Through gene expression (central dogma of biology), the DNA molecule carries information, a gene code, in form of base pairing sequences that are transcribed to RNA and further translated to functional proteins or amino acids.

Why does DNA determine a trait?
Aneli [31]

Answer:

Traits are determined by genes, and also they are determined by the interaction with the environment with genes. And remember that genes are the messages in our DNA that define individual characteristics. So the trait is the manifestation of the product of a gene that is coded for by the DNA.

8. A scoop of ammonium nitrate is added to a beaker of water. Which is a quantitative observation of the experiment?
BaLLatris [955]

The correct answer is B. The temperature of the water decreased by 5°C

Explanation:

Temperature and the changes in it are part of quantitative observations because these can only be measured and understood through numbers. Indeed, the temperature is globally measured through different numerical scales such as the Celsius or the Kelvin scale. This does not occur in other qualities such as color because this is considered and analyzing using qualities or traits rather than values. According to this, the correct answer is "The temperature of the water decreased by 5°C."

A scientist injected some cells with a drug that blocked glycolysis after NADH was formed, but before ATP and pyruvate were form
Stels [109]

Answer:

The cell could not make ATP.

Explanation:

Glycolysis may be defined as the process in which a glucose molecule is broken down into the two molecules of the pyruvate. Pyruvate is used to produce energy through various pathways that depends upon the availability of the oxygen. However when the glycolysis in blocked and the pyruvate is not formed, then the cells would not be able to use either the fermentation or aerobic respiration or the perform citric acid cycle. So the cell does not make any ATP.
