The denominator must be the same, so just think of the LEAST COMMON MULTIPLE, The LCM here is 8, because you can multiply 4 by 2 to get 8.
so when you multiply, you multiply both on the top and on the bottom, so this would be:
3 x 2 / 4 x 2 = 6 / 8
Now you can add or subtract: 6/8 - 1/8 = 5/8

Use a graphing calculator or online application to find the solution to 3^-x = x^3 + x to the nearest tenth. The solution is app
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

x = 0.5 to the nearest 1/10.

Step-by-step explanation:

3^-x = x^3 + x

y = x^3 - 3^-x + x = 0

Using a graphing calculator to draw the graph of the above:

The graph crosses the x-axis at x = 0.4798

The question is listed in the image below.
LenaWriter [7]

Answer:

y = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

The similarity statement ABCD \sim WXYZ tells you which vertex from the first polygon corresponds to which vertex from the second polygon.

A is paired with W, B is paired with X, C is paired with Y, D is paired with Z.

The expression <em>y</em> + 2 is placed along side WZ which corresponds to side AD in the first polygon.

Now locate two sides, one from each polygon, that are labeled with just <u>numbers</u>.  That way, you'll be able to tell what the proportion is between the two shapes.

AB and WX correspond and are labeled 5 and 3, respectively.

Now you can write a proportion:

\frac{WX}{AB}=\frac{WZ}{AD}\\\\\frac{3}{5}=\frac{y+2}{15}

Use the Means-Extremes Property ("cross multiply").

5(y+2)=3(15)\\\\5y+10=45\\\\5y=35\\\\y=7

4(2x+3)+4(3x+2) simplify and expand answer
timama [110]

Answer:

20x + 20

Step-by-step explanation:

4 ( 2x + 3 ) + 4 ( 3x + 2 )

Take 4 common from both,

4 ( 2x + 3 + 3x + 2 )

= 4 ( 2x + 3x + 3 + 2 )

= 4 ( 5x + 5 )

= 4 ( 5x ) + 4 ( 5 )

= 20x + 20
