Introduction to addition or subtraction of fractions with different denominator 3/4-1/8

Mathematics

The denominator must be the same, so just think of the LEAST COMMON MULTIPLE, The LCM here is 8, because you can multiply 4 by 2 to get 8.
so when you multiply, you multiply both on the top and on the bottom, so this would be:
3 x 2 / 4 x 2 = 6 / 8
Now you can add or subtract: 6/8 - 1/8 = 5/8

Find the sum of first 20 to terms of an ap in which d is equal to 7 and 20 second term is 149
GuDViN [60]

Answer:

1370

Step-by-step explanation:

<h3>Given</h3>
  • AP with d= 7 and a₂₂ = 149
<h3>To find</h3>
  • Sum of first 20 terms
<h3>Solution</h3>

<u>First, let's get the value of the first term:</u>

  • aₙ = a + (n-1)d
  • a₂₂ = a + 21d
  • 149 = a + 21*7
  • a = 149 - 147
  • a= 2

<u>Next, let's find the sum of the first 20 terms</u>

  • Sₙ = 1/2n(2a+ (n-1)d)
  • S₂₀ = 1/2*20(2*2 + 19*7) = 10(4 + 133) = 10*137 = 1370

<u>Answer is</u> 1370

What is the solution set for the given inequality if the replacement set for r is {5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10}?
tangare [24]

Answer:

{6,7,8,9,10}

Step-by-step explanation:

Solve the inequality using inverse operations.

3r\leq 4r-6\\3r-4r\leq -6\\-r\leq -6\\r\geq 6

This solution means values equal to or larger than 6 from the set are solutions. This means 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 are the solution set.
