Answer:

\frac{4}{15}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have that,

Number of students voted for Omar = \frac{2}{15}

Number of students voted for Scott= \frac{3}{5} = \frac{9}{15}

Therefore, we get that,

Total number of votes = \frac{2}{15} + \frac{9}{15}

i.e. Total number of votes = \frac{11}{15}

So, it can be seen that 'out of 15 students, 11 voted for both Omar and Lindsey combined'.

As the rest of students voted for Lindsey. Therefore, number of students who voted for Lindsey = 15 - 11 = 4.

So, it gives us that 'out of 15 students, 4 voted for Lindsey'.

Hence, the fraction of students that voted for Lindsey is \frac{4}{15}

Okay so Omar had 2/15 of the votes and Scott had 3/5 which will go up to 9/15 before it was reduced down so 9 plus 2 is 11 so 15 minus 11 is 4 so Lindsey got 4/15 of the votes.

Use a graphing calculator to solve the equation -2sin(theta)= 1.2 in the interval from 0 to 2pi.
elena-s [515]

Answer:

\theta=\pi +arcsin(\frac{3}{5})\approx 3.785\\\\\theta=2\pi -arcsin(\frac{3}{5} ) \approx 5.64

Step-by-step explanation:

As you can see from the graph I attached you, the possible solutions in the interval from 0 to 2π are approximately:

\theta=3.7\\\\and\\\\\theta=5.7

So, it's useful to solve the equation too, in order to verify the result:

-2sin(\theta)=1.2\\\\sin(\theta)=-\frac{3}{5}

Taking the inverse sine of both sides:

\theta=\pi +arcsin(\frac{3}{5})\approx 3.785\\\\\theta=2\pi -arcsin(\frac{3}{5} ) \approx 5.64

Using this result we can conclude the solutions in the interval from 0 to 2π are approximately:

\theta\approx 3.785\\\\\theta \approx 5.64
