Cara was born on January 1, 2010, and her mother, Sydney, was born on January 1, 1982. In what year will Sydney’s age be twice Cara’s age?

Let the Car's age be C

Let Sydney's age be S

From the given information ,

Cara was born on January 1, 2010 and Sydney, was born on January 1, 1982

2010 - 1982 = 28

So Sydneys age = Cara's age + 28

S = C + 28 ---------> equation 1

We need to find when will Sydney's age be twice cara's age

So, S = 2C ---------> equation 2

Substitute equation 2 in equation 1

2C = C + 28

Subtract C on both sides

C = 28

Sydney's age be twice Cara's age when Cara's age = 28

We add 28 with 2010 = 2010 + 28 = 2038

Sydney's age be twice Cara's age in 2038

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

Since GJ bisects ∠ FGH , then ∠ FGJ = ∠ JGH = x + 14

∠ FGH = ∠ FGJ + ∠ JGH , substitute values

4x + 16 = x + 14 + x + 14 = 2x + 28 ( subtract 2x from both sides )

2x + 16 = 28 ( subtract 16 from both sides )

2x = 12 ( divide both sides by 2 )

x = 6

Thus

∠ FGJ = x + 14 = 6 + 14 = 20° → C

The percent discount is 30%.
If you multiply $32 by .30, you will get $9.60. That is the amount of the discount. If you subtract $9.60 from $32, you will get $22.40 which is what he paid before tax. Therefore the percent discount is 30%.
