Answer:

306.8 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Refer the attached figure .

A surveyor moves 160 feet away from the base of the pole i.e. ED = 160 m

Referring the image .

AC=ED=160 m

A transit i.e. AE is 6 feet tall.

AE = CD=6 feet

With a transmit the angle of elevation to the top of the pole to be 62° i.e. ∠BAC = 62°

To Find BC , use tigonometric ratio.

Tan\theta = \frac{Perpendicular}{Base}

Tan 62^{\circ}=\frac{BC}{AC}

Tan 62^{\circ}=\frac{BC}{160}

1.88*160=BC

300.8=BC

Now, the height of the pole = BC+CD =300.8+6=306.8 feet

Hence the height of the pole is 306.8 feet

oksian1 [2.3K]

Answer:

37.6%

Step-by-step explanation:

P(A|B) = P(A and B) / P(B)

P(red | car) = P(red and car) / P(car)

P(red | car) = 0.32 / 0.85

P(red | car) = 0.376

an experiment consists of flipping a fair coin 4 times. What is the probability of obtaining at least one head?
Dvinal [7]
\mathbb P(X\ge1)=1-\mathbb P(X=0)

The probability of getting 0 heads in 4 tosses (or equivalently, 4 tails) is \dfrac1{2^4}=\dfrac1{16}.

So the desired probability is

1-\dfrac1{16}=\dfrac{15}{16}

A fruit company delivers its fruit in two types of boxes: large and small. a delivery of 5 large boxes and 3 small boxes has a t
Hoochie [10]
Let's let the weight of a large box be L, and the weight of a small box be S.

We know that 5 large boxes and 3 small boxes is 120kg, so:
5L + 3S = 120

We also know that 7 large boxes and 9 small boxes is 234kg, so:
7L + 9S = 234

You can multiply the first equation by 3 to get:
15L + 9S = 360

See how now both equations have 9S? We can now subtract one from the other:
(15L+9S) - (7L+9S) = 360-234
8L = 126
L = 15.75

Now sub this value back into an equation:
(5x15.75) + 3S = 120
3S = 41.25
S = 13.75

Double check these values
(7x15.75) + (9x13.75)
= 110.25 + 123.75
=234, which is consistent with above.

So a large box is 15.75kg, and a small box is 13.75kg.

Hope this helped
