Now you have to solve using inverse operation. Subtract 3.50 from 41.50 and you get 38.00. Now your equation is .90x+2=38.00

Now you have to subtract 2 form 38.00 and you get 36.00. Now you get .90x=36.00

Then you have to divide 36.00 by .90 and you get 40. Therefore x=40, which means you can travel 40 miles.
