Let's say you have John, Mary, and Ben. Let's say they have ONE chewy worm left, and they want to split it, and the worm has 5 segments, Green, Yellow, Red, Blue, and Purple.

Now, it can go like this:
CATEGORY 1: UNEVENLY
Way 1:
John gets the Purple and Blue
Mary gets the Red
Ben gets the Yellow and Green

Way 2:
John gets the Purple
Mary gets the Blue, Red, and Yellow
Ben gets the Green

Catagory 2: Evenly
Way 1:
You can cut the 5 segments each into 3 even pieces, this way there are 15 total. Then divide up the 15 by giving 5 each to John, Mary, and Ben.

~Hope this helps!

Call them a, b, c

I will put a number after each letter to indicate how many segments each got
one possible arrangment is
a,1
b,1
c,3

another way is this
a,1
b,2
c,2

or even
a,2
b,3
c,0

One side of a rectangle is three times the other. Find the longer side if the perimeter is
29
guajiro [1.7K]

Answer:

Answer: 10.875

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the short side be x.

Then the long side is 3x.

There are two opposite sides of each length, so the perimeter is

3x + 3x + x + x = 8x

The perimeter is 29, so we get the equation

8x = 29

Solve for x by dividing both sides by 8.

x = 29/8

x = 3.625

The longer side is 3x.

3x = 3(3.625) = 10.875

Answer: 10.875

Two teams are selling candy bars to raise money. Team A has $165 saved and they are selling each candy bar for $2. Team B has $7
devlian [24]

Answer: Each have to sell 91 candy bars to have the same amount of money.

Step-by-step explanation: Suppose x represents the amount of candy bars.

Team A already have $165 and they are selling each candy bar for $2. The mathematical equation that represents the amount of money they have is

A: 165 + 2x

Team B initially has $74 and will sell each candy bar for $3. Then, the mathematical equation representing their amount of money is

B: 74 + 3x

So, to have the same amount of money:

165 + 2x = 74 + 3x

x = 165 - 74

x = 91

Teams A and B will have the same amount of money when each of them sell 91 candy bars.

Kim bought a poster that cost $8.95 and a ome colored pencils.The total cost was $21.35.How much did the colored pencils cost?
Dafna11 [192]
If the total cost was 21.35, and the poster cost 8.95, then all you need to do is subtract to poster cost from the total cost to find the cost of the pencil.
21.35-8.95= $12.40

How do you graph y=7/2x-2
RoseWind [281]
You can either make a table using any numbers you would like (I would suggest -5 to 5) and then graphing the rule

ex. (7/2)(-5)-2 = -19.5 (I multiplied (7/2) by -5 and then subtracted 2)

Or you can put the rule in a graphing calculator and check the points from there
