Well, that's because a gerrymander helps give a political advantage for a party so into this question why its a problem for the representative because the Senate has that political vantage so there getting worried that the Senate will get more powerful then the house of representatives could have. They also divides a city, or a state into a election.

Gerrymandering is the dividing of states, cities, and the country into election districts in hopes that the other party has as few districts as possible.

Senators are elected in a statewide election rather than in more narrow districts.
