Mole ratios represent quantities of substances in the chemical equation by proportion. Each answer can be stated in vice versa.

Answers for A are the following:
2 moles of HgO form 2 moles of Hg
2 moles of HgO form 1 moles of O2
2 moles of Hg to 1 mole of O2

Answers for B are the following:
4 moles NH3 to 6 moles NO
5 moles N2 to 6 moles H2O
4 moles NH3 to 5 moles N2
4 moles NH3 to 6 moles H2O
6 moles NO to 5 moles N2
6 moles NO to 6 moles H2O

A) For balanced chemical equation: 2HgO(s) → 2Hg(l) + O₂(g).

1) Mole ratio 1: n(HgO) : n(Hg) = 2 : 2 (1 : 1).

2) Mole ratio 2: n(HgO) : n(O₂) = 2 : 1.

3) Mole ratio 3: n(Hg) : n(O₂) = 2 : 1.

B) Balanced chemical equation: 4NH₃(g) + 6NO(g) → 5N₂(g) + 6H₂O(l).

1) Mole ratio 1: n(NH₃) : n(NO) = 4 : 6 (2 : 3).

2) Mole ratio 2: n(NH₃) : n(N₂) = 4 : 5.

3) Mole ratio 3: n(NH₃) : n(H₂O) = 4 : 6 (2 : 3).

4) Mole ratio 4: n(NO) : n(N₂) = 6 : 5.

5) Mole ratio 5: n(NO) : n(H₂O) = 6 : 6 (1 :1).

6) Mole ratio 6: n(N₂) : n(H₂O) = 5 : 6.

When 2.50 grams of copper reacts with oxygen?
ycow [4]
Mass oxigen = 2.81 - 2.50 = 0.31 g
Moles O = 0.31 g / 15.9994 g/mol =0.0194

moles Cu = 2.50 g / 63.546 g/mol =0.0393

we divide by the smallest number
0.0194 / 0.0194 = 1 => O
0.0393 / 0.0194 = 2 => Cu
the formula is Cu2O ( Copper (I) oxide )

Which of the following would dissolve in water, and why?
Oduvanchick [21]

Answer:

It should be acetic acid.

Explanation:

When you have ionic bonds, the ionic bonds will always be water soluble; the polarity doesn't matter for this case.

When a small amount of 12 M HNO3(aq) is added to a buffer solution made by mixing CH3NH2(aq) and CH3NH3Cl(aq) , the pH of the bu
fredd [130]

Answer:

a. CH3NH2(aq) + H⁺ → CH3NH3⁺

Explanation:

The mixture of a weak base as CH3NH2 with its conjugate acid CH3NH3Cl produce a buffer. As the weak acid is in equilibrium with water, the mixture of the weak base and its conjugate base produce that the acid or base released react avoiding the change in pH.

For example, when a strong acid as HNO3 reacts, the weak base will react producing the conjugate base, that is:

CH3NH2(aq) + H⁺ → CH3NH3⁺

Right answer is:

a. CH3NH2(aq) + H⁺ → CH3NH3⁺

Which statement about protons is false?
Alekssandra [29.7K]

Answer: The correct answer is Option 4.

Explanation:

There are three sub-atomic particles present in an atom. They are: electrons, protons and neutrons.

Protons constitute in each and every atom.

The charge on proton is of equal magnitude as that of electron but having opposite sign. Proton carry a positive charge and electron carry a negative charge.

Protons and neutrons, both determine the mass of an atom.

Mass of 1 proton = 1.007276 u

Mass of 1 neutron = 1.008664 u

Mass of 1 electron = 0.00054858 u

Mass of proton is almost same as that of neutron but is more than the mass of electron.

Hence, the correct answer is Option 4.
