F’(x) = 6x - 2 /3

Explanation

The function does the following to a number:

Multiplies by 3

Subtracts 2

Divided by 6

We have to work backwards to get to the original value (which is what an inverse does)

Multiply by 6

Add 2

Divide by 3

Katena32 [7]
The horizontal line at y=4 doesn't have any slope, so the answer should be relatively easy to find.  It's just the slope of Function 2.

y = 8x + 12 is the function for Function 2.  8x is the important part.

So the rate of change differing from both functions is 8.

Jeff is baking a cake. The recipe says that he has to mix 32 grams of vanilla powder to the flour.
sergeinik [125]

If 1 cup of that particular vanilla powder has a mass of 128 grams, then \dfrac{2}{3} of a cup of vanilla powder has a mass of

\dfrac{2}{3} \cdot 128=\dfrac{256}{3}=85\dfrac{1}{3} grams.

Since

85\dfrac{1}{3}-32=53\dfrac{1}{3} grams and \dfrac{5}{12} of a cup of vanilla powder is

\dfrac{5}{12}\cdot 128=\dfrac{5\cdot 128}{12}=\dfrac{5\cdot 32}{3}=\dfrac{160}{3}=53\dfrac{1}{3},

then correct answer is that he went over by  \dfrac{5}{12}  of a cup.

Answer: correct choice is B.

In the figure, OA is a diameter of the smaller circle and O is the centre of the larger circle. Find the
Burka [1]

Answer:

942 6/7 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Since O = Center of bigger circle, OA = Radius of bigger circle.

∴ Area of smaller circle - Area of bigger circle = Area of shaded part.

∴ Area of smaller circle = 22/7 × 10²

                                       = 22/7 × 100

                                       = 2200/7

                                       = 314 2/7 cm²

∴ Area of bigger circle = 22/7 × 20 ²

                                      = 22/7 × 400

                                      = 1257  1/7 cm²

∴ Area of shaded part = 1257 1/7 - 314 2/7

                                     =  942 6/7 cm²
